Belleville 305 Nationals to Allow Racesaver Engines

OBERLIN , KS— The United Rebel Sprint Series and the Belleville High Banks are looking to make a true national event this year.

The Rebels and series founder Rick Salem will get that opportunity Aug. 4 at the URSS Sprint Car Nationals at the Belleville High Banks, a track dubbed the world's fastest half-mile in the
nation.

Salem has received contact from drivers running RaceSaver engines in the South and has decided to open the night up to URSS engines and those running a RaceSaver engine as well.

"We're just trying to make it more of a national event," Salem said.

The Thursday night event will preceded the two-day annual Belleville Midget Nationals and give the area another excellent opportunity to see what the URSS has to offer.

In two races at Belleville, the Rebels have put on a pair of amazing races on the lightning-quick surface. Ray Seemann won last year's battle, while Luke Cranston used a late pass around
Zach Blurton on June 3 to grab a win in front of a full grandstand.

"In Texas and New Mexico, they have a pretty good field of cars down there and thier engines rules are extremelly close to ours," Salem said. "I'd like to compare them together with us."

The winner of the Aug. 4 feature will pocket $3,000 with $400 to start the A main, and
with $200 going to all non qualifiers, it's the largest payout in series history. Races are scheduled to begin that Thursday at 7 p.m.

"We're trying to make it more of a national deal to make it the largest 305 race in
the nation. This is an opportunity for a lot of drivers to get the chance to compete on
one of the most historic and fastest ½ mile tracks in the nation" Salem said.

For more information about the United Rebel Sprint Series, contact Rick Salem at (785) 475-7010 or email [email protected],
or visit the URSS online at www.unitedrebelsprintseries.com.

You must be either URSS legal or have a Racesaver legal engine. Thanks for the interest .

Once the rules include Midwest 305 style engines which our car would fit into we will be running it. Just doesn't make sense to take a budget class of car and build another engine for one show. But if it changes we will be there.

URSS has a very competitive engine rule and it looks like the racesaver rules are much the same. URSS runs a stock dia. valve spring, no porting at all, no roller cams, or drysumps, stock location water pump, cam lift rule and compression rule, our motor puts out about 450 hp and turns about 6800 to 7400 rpm and we run a 16 sq. wing. and have a weight rule, we average 20 to 30 cars and sometimes about 40. Belleville is a very fun and fast track this race starts off the midget nationals and has the chance to grow to be the largest paying 305 race in the nation!

We appreciate the invite. We would like to come run with your group. Especially at Belleville. I'm in Texas and it would be expensive to just come. Is there money up for those who don't make the show. Also the other problem I see is wings. Racesaver cars run big wings. It wouldn't make since to buy a new wing for one event. I don't think in a 305 on that big of a track it would help. Probably be a little much. But if we were allowed to run our wings it would make it more economical.

It pays $200 dollars for all cars who don't make the 24 car A feature in Belleville. Also it is a three day weekend and we will allow all cars who come to Belleville to also run those shows. They all have an increased purse and should make for a fun weekend for all.

What about tire rules. What tires are we required to run. Are we able to run our wings. What's the weight rule.

We run a 16ft square wing. we run a hard right rear and medium left rear. Fronts are open. I have a wing that i would bring and let someone use for the weekend for $100. Have the post and is a internal slider wing. Just post on her or p m me.
