I'm thinking about changing the engine out with the black and white #38 here. I had good results before, and I have a new clutch to go with it. I finally got that one cooled down enough to use.

The 327 I have in the 26 now is fesh, but I don't have any time on it. For next year I have an engine that will be better suited for on track use, but it will probably have to taken down a notch. It's got 14:1 compression, and that's more than what I need. Thinking about going with a set of flattops on it. The wife has already claimed the 327, so I'd hate to tear it up without knowing much about it. I don't go that fast anyway, but there's no sense in taking a chance when I don't need to.

Brian, I'm sure whatever you decide will make it look good for the show and sound good on the track. With todays fuel prices, a flattop motor makes alot of sense unless you are going to run a serious pro series type program. As far as the 327, just remember that life is alot easier when the wife is happy!! LOL

All,

The event is 10 days away. If you are on the fence please plan on coming. This is a great facility and track. The track is very excited about us coming. They are getting out a press release just for the vintage cars. Thier hope is that this is the beginning of a long relationship with vintage racing.

See everyone soon,

Dan

Truth is, there's always someone on the fence, and sometimes they are on the other side before you know it.

2 cars or 10! Let's do this thing! After what I saw at Ardmore, in the attitude everybody had- we have a chance to save this movement in this part of the world.

Laps and smiles man, laps and smiles.

Nevermind the time I posted this- I took it wayyy easy getting home.

We got out at 10:30 if not a bit earlier. I'll have to wait until Monday evening to post the pics I took. Gotta work in a few hours.

Great time, had a blast! Be sure to put this event on your calendar for next year.

All,

We had a great time last night. We had 7 cars with 6 hitting the track for some hot laps before the features. The stands and pits were packed for "The Showdown" a three day event at Kennedale Speedway. The track was so pleased that I got a call from Doug Rollo the track announcer at 1:36am again thanking us for the great cars and show. The track understands the process to grow a large show needs to start slow and are already talking about more events next year.

I did not get any in-car camera work from this event (the old iPod ran too long and timed out while we were just coming up the shoot). Hopefully Brian's worked out.

Here are a few pictures.

Thanks to everyone who made the trek to Kennedale. It's great seeing everyone.

Dan

Brian,

Thanks for the video. Kennedale is still calling and wants to set-up two dates for next year.

Great video, Brian, but sorry you broke down! Wish I could have come up for this event...maybe next year. Thanks again for sharing this.

Sid
