Was anyone else disappointed that Knoxville Raceway didn't have any fireworks on Saturday night to celebrate the 4th of July? That has been a tradition that we always looked forward to after the races, and it was a real let down not to have them this year. How sad.

Tradition?????

Last year was the first time they've ever done it in my lifetime (all those other years were fireworks put on by the city).

I was also disappointed, but knew when they didn't list it on their schedule that the likileyhood of them having them was pretty low.

Doesn't help that the City of Knoxville does not have a Fireworks display (and hasn't for 5 or 6 years now), us locals have to go to surrounding towns for our kids to see them (Bussey, Monroe, Pella, Chariton or Pleasantville).

I wasnt there but if I were there and they were having fireworks I doubt I would have stayed.

For me setting off fireworks does nothing to show patriotism. Its fine for something for the kids to enjoy but I`m glad its over. I`ve listened to it for the last 4 nites.

I go to the races to watch racing. The only fireworks that I need to see, happen on the racetrack.

I agree with you race88. If I want to buy a ticket, throw it in the garbage and then walk over and sit in the Dingus all night, i will. If you are trying to say that you think it is stupid that they left after the 410 A-main, then that is an opinion, one that i agree with. But to say that they did not support the track, that is not an opinion. It is an incorrect fact. They did support the track and then got up and left at a time they saw fit, which is their right as a paying customer.
