Folks, here is my challenge. I'll be in Michigan this weekend for the "real job". It looks like Attica is about 2 hours and 45 minutes from my hotel. All-Stars and kick off to Ohio Speedweek so it's a really good show I'm sure.
My question about Attica is in general are the races done quickly there; not a big fan of long shows when I've got that long a ride back to the hotel.
In searching around I find Butler Speedway in Michigan that hosts weekly Saturday night 410 sprints, and according to results they seem to have a solid field of cars. That's 45 minutes from my hotel. What can anyone tell me about Butler?
And, maybe I'll just forget about sleep and do both....

I went to the Attica Speedweek show last year, it was awesome. Last year it got out kind of late, but that was probably because, 1) Danny Smith's throttle stuck in qualifying sending him into the fence, (that was the wreck in which he broke his vertebrae), and they had to repair the fence, and 2) there was a fair amount of cautions, and they ran so many yellow flag laps that a few guys ran out of fuel. However, with as many cars as there will be, and time trials with over 40 cars, 4 heats, C and B-Main and 40 lap A-Main, it could be a long show. They also ran late models as a support class last year, but their feature was after the sprints. I'd recommend going, the racing there is spectacular, but don't expect to get out by 11:00.

You will have no problem pulling off the "double." Attica gets done at a resonable time and it's an easy drive back to Mich. That will be a REALLY good show.
Butler is not what you would call a real "quality" or stacked field, but they usually have a good car count and the top 5 or 10 cars are pretty competitive and put on a good show. It's a grass roots dirt track and would be worth your time to visit.

Jason Meyers told you how nice Attica was a few weeks back on your show. If you are anywhere near there you would be silly not to take in the Speedweek opener. Butler is a unique little track with some very unique fans. There aren't any "Big Time" teams but the racing is still very good. Again, if you are anywhere near a 410 Sprint car race, it would be silly to skip it. Do both, good racing trumps good sleeping any day..

Butler is a high banked 3/8th mile dirt track. When SOD isn't running they will have about 30 sprint cars but this weekend SOD is running so the car count will be down some. They have about 5 cars that are really fast but you never know who might show up. They have modifieds, sportsmans and street stocks too. Attica is a must for the speedweek show. The should have around 50 cars and you never know who will be there.

Can't go wrong with Attica any week, but being Speedweek, I would drive 4 hours for the opener. The racing is going to be fast and great this weekend.
GO TO ATTICA!! Hands down!!
