OK, one more new guy question: When WoO or other group sanctions a race at the local track, how do they work it financially? Who pays what $, who gets what $, etc.

Just looking for the basic framework, no gory details necessary..

Have known abut sprint cars for years, never went till this past summer, will go as much as possible this summer!

Thanks

When the WoO is scheduled at a track, the track is responsible for posting the sanction fee, In the case of the WoO, I think that it includes the purse, along with any applicable tow money(I beleive that the top 15 in owners points get [aid tow money). There's also a payment made to last years champion(A way to keep him competing with the WoO). Last time I had any info, a 1 night WoO shoes cost a track around $80K - before any operatinjg expenses or advertising.

Some promoters get sponsors to offset these costs, which is why you see a track advertising "The XYZ Auto Parts 40" featuring the World of Outlaws.
