Ya'll... Been corresponding regularly with Ray. He's set up for some pretty major back/hip surgery in the next two weeks. Well, seems last night he took a turn for the worst and went to the emergency room. Seems he has some damage in his neck too that has him unable to post here for a spell. He asked that I pass it on all you folks.... And being a rookie, I am not sure who JD is. But he wanted me to be sure to ask JD how his car/driver did last night.... Anyway, keep Ray in your prayers for the next few weeks. I did the back surgery thing some years back and that by itself is a doggoned tough road... I can't imagine what Ray will have to go through. But he wanted to make sure all you guys knew whay he won't be posting here for a few days.

Bkcr is the the guy who sparked me into bringing the video craze here, and elsewhere, by giving me the Harold Leep Story on vhs. Of course so many others have brought in so much more, it all started with Ray trying to get a dvd copy to Luther Brewer.

Thank you Ray, God Bless You, and I definitely hope you get through this in fine shape.

Brian

Aberdumbie, We appreciate the info , I hope Ray will get better and hate to hear about the set back with his neck, Tel Ray thinking about him and just hope things get better for him and be glad when he is able to get back on here pain free and able to get out and about as well.

Tell him we won our Heat Friday night and ran 3rd in the A main, ran 2nd for a while and pushing for the No. 1 spot and he tried to go up top to pass on a restart and just made a mistake and failed to use enough brake and wound up losing a postion to 3rd but learned something. Really proud of the new shoe, has potential and can race, see it already, believe in time he will just get better. Still having Carb issues with a pause in car in corners ,going to try and see if that can be fixed this week as going to take it somewhere to get it looked at and hopefully fixed.

Again Aberdumbie thanks for the info and will think of Ray and hope that it will get better for him soon.

J.D.

Maybe these surgeries and you will be free of pain. Lord wrap your arms around Ray and guide him and his wife and family through this time in their life, guide the surgeons and the nurses, and let them mend his body back to like new. I know one day we will all be free of pain, but please Lord let Ray live out his life here on earth free of all his pain, he has dealt with this for sometime now. Lord we pray Amen!

Been forwarding everybodys well wishes to Ray. I think his wife is reading them to him and it sure seems to pick his spirit up.. And that's always a good thing when you are trying to heal. It's a problem for him to set up to see a computer screen, but I think his wife helps. I know she has been reading him messages and sending me emails and such. I just got this from him and thought I would forward it to you guys.

All the e-mails make me fill great, my sister is on her way to take me for a pre-op visit. They do not know if it is for the back or neck that will depend on and mri that I will have later. Had ct scan and x-rays of neck and it is messed up.2 discs were fused at birth and will have to have some other fused they will have to decide whether to hip or neck first by an mri to see if neck is stable enough to have hip fixed .I ham on massive doses of steroids so I did not sleep very good but neck is getting better .I have trouble looking at screens' Randy has been a great new/old friend from Tulsa and I will pass everything on to him.

Ray, Hope things are well with ya. Improved one position this past Fri. night with a 2nd place finish in the A main, got carb better and running pretty well, still have top end flutter but not real bad, work on that this week and get it completely cleared up, hope we can improve one more spot, like to win some , have not had that in nearly a year now and hope to get one soon. Driver is doing a hell of a job.

Man I just hope you can get better and make it out sometime later this season , if not going to get you a copy of a DVD and get it to you of some different nights we run at BMS , then you can see it yourself if you cannot make it to BMS this year.

We will keep working at it Ray and keep you up to date and you keep thinking positive and keep getting better.

Looks like Ray's surgery went well. I remember when I had my back surgery they kept me in the hospital nearly two weeks. Looks like Ray will get out this Thursday so I am going to make a grand assumption that equates to very good news. Anyway, here was a progress report his wife sent me.

This is Ray's wife - Carol - just returned from hospital and Ray's surgery went wonderful.
He was sitting in chair this evening when I left and napped the entire afternoon.
They are will have him in therapy tomorrow and moving around more also tomorrow. I will see him again tomorrow evening after work.
I'll tell him that I emailed you today about his surgery.
He should be home hopefully on Thursday - his sister is bringing him home.
I'm sure he'll check his emails when he returns home - not promptly thou... maybe a little later. I'll help him.
thank you so much for your prayers and concern about Ray.

Got this from Ray's wife. Seems he is home and doing as well as can be. Those first days after back surgery are too miserable to put into words. But being home three days after the surgery is a darned good sign. I do believe this site and his freinds here have done a lot to boost his spirit. And really that is the best medicine when you are trying to get your body to heal after something that invasive. Here's what Ray's wife sent;

Please tell everyone on RFTP that I am home and doing okay - surgery was successful - I just hurt like you know what.
Thanks Ray
thiis is Carol

Hi everybody I missed not being able to use the computer. I am doing fine and have been doing my exercises so that i get better fast. The worst thing that I have to do is give myself a shot in the stomach so that no blood clots form.I have to turn my head when they stick me and now I have to do it to my self.

Jd how did las night Go?

Thanks to everybody for all of your thoughts and prayers.Got to move, again thank you to everybody

Ray, Finally got the WIN after a 3rd then a 2nd and now a WIN!!!. Started 4th row inside and dropped the green and straight to the bottom and got to the lead on lap 2 and had a great race with Brandon Jennings which was running the Top and was able to get a good drive off the bottom and get the W!.

Real Happy for Jason Lair as well as all the folks who help out with Cash or Time on the car, sure makes all those long hours in the Garage and sometimes late nights as well really worth it , I wondered how this other Eagle would react and it does very well with whatever we have thrown at it, although we have found what the Max amount of Rollout for tightening the car up is, we used the Heat race to find that out, pays no loot and does not matter as we start at the back in the A main anyway with our Pt. Avg. so we just tried something and I believe it helped us find what he likes for the A main.

Good thing motor will run now , no flutter for the first time in 2 yrs. and that in itself is a relief, now just keep working more to get what he likes in the car and get more laps and see what happens.

Ray , Also need to get your address somehow , got to get you a DVD of last Fri. the 13th show at BMS , made a sign for you and my nephew who both have been in Hospital and made a Get Well Soon sign with your names on it and put er on the Top Wing. Got the Video guy to zoom in on it during the heat race, Need to get it to you sometime via mail or personal delivery. Just let me know.

That is great for a young driver to get his first win. What did you have to do to the carb to stop the stuttering? I sent you my address to your e-mail, did you receive it? I am getting better using walker to get around ,not allowed to ride yet that starts next week. The worst is giving myself shots in the stomach everyday to stop clots, I did not think I could do that but I can. Thanks for all the prayers.

Ray
