I still get a kick out of what Jeff said about the engine they had in the Davis #12 car two years ago. He said they only had like $7500 invested in the motor, and it was pretty fast. Give Jeff good equipment and he'll take it to the front.

Not to burst your bubble...but. Jeff's motor he ran in the 12 car they got for very cheap and they freshened it up.....you can buy a good used motor for 10,000 to 20,000 and freshen it up and it still be very competitive, and those motors go for about 40,000 new...but yeah, Jeff can still wheel a race car.
The older I get, the faster I used to be.

I got a kick out of a story Jay Eckley told me about a month ago. He said the oil pump was off of an engine we built for a local guy here. Jay's dad bought the engine when they were still racing. Jay kept the parts and pieces and when Jeff's car owner needed an oil pump Jay sold it to them for like $150.
The pump that Jay sold them was brand new................................................... in 1992!!

Throttle,
Not to burst your bubble, but the motor we purchased from Jay at $7500.00 we ran for an entire season before freshening. We did upgrade mine and my teamate Dalton Davis's motors last year with Engler injectors and good blocks. Jay has done a great job for us. Three championships in three years for the Davis Team and had the ASCS Devils Bowl race won till a blown tire coming for the white flag.
Finally the Flames are going on the cars this week.

As we say in the south "Jay is good people". We are all just trying to make a living and go racing. Thanks for the great work Jeff! You make me look good!

Still looking for a pic of the car. It tickles me. Everyone always talks about how big time sprint car racing is way too expensive but when a Ford wins its because its so expensive and the chevs are so cheap! LOL

Bring that Ford to PA for PASpeedweeks Mr. Swindell.... I'm sure you'd sell a truckload of novelties and the locals love the "outsiders"
