I agree it is sad and I enjoy sitting down with a good magazine or paper but it's the age of instant information. Hard to compete with the wonderful world of internet. There is always a price to pay for the next big thing. I really hope other racing publications can hang on.

It is sad that something like this comes to an end. But "what is the world coming to"?

They can't compete with the internet, no doubt about it. But we all survived when the blacksmiths, cobblers, typewriters, pay phones, drive inn movie theaters, vcr's, and cassette tapes, were all but put out of commision, and we likely will survive when 99% of the printed magazines, newspapers, and books are no longer around and replaced by internet. It is kind of sad, but all generations watch things they are accustomed to, disappear.

Think of all of the things 20 years ago you thought would never die, but now are non-existent. Printed media is one of them that will not be around soon.

Mindblowing when you think of all the history that has gone through that paper!

And what that paper has meant to so many people when they/their hero won a race and they were on the cover!

It would be interesting to find out WHO the longest subscriber (Hosehead) is that is a regular on this forum. In my case, I have been a regular subscriber since about 1970 and a regular buyer at racing events going back to around 1965. I'm sure this isn't a record, how about other posters with longer subscriptions?
