Wondering how the ASCS points system is setup. Do they have seperate owner points and driver points like the WoO? Do they split up the $60k winners share of the point fund between driver and owner?

Larsen was acutally in the Findley Farms #77 car from Oregon, same car JJ drove at the Trophy Cup in 2010. They agreed to run the #41 for JJR to give him the owner points, but other than the #, I think everything was the Findley Farms teams equipment.

Larsen was the class of the field tonight. TK didnt have a good enough car to run him down.

From my understanding, if Jason wins the owners points he would get half of the top prize money. I'm guessing he would also get prize money from whatever position he finishes in drivers points so he could still get the 60 grand, and is starting off pretty good to do just that.

Now he heads into Tuson as the 'owner' points leader with Jack Dover taking over the driving duties.

Are Dovers not running the tour this year or just not making it to the west coast swing?

I'm not sure if they will run the National schedule or just run wherever. They are planning on being at Devil's Bowl, not sure after that.

No money to run the national deal. Probably just cherry-pick locally when he can't bum a ride on someone else's buck.

Something seems weird about this JJ owner points thing. Talk about the Outlaws taking care of their own, what do you think the ascs is doing?

bud keading had the #21 on his car for i believe brian brown and johnny herrera ran the 45x on the H.A.M. construction 35a car. so it wasn't just a JJ thing. gary wrights car owner sent a motor out to put in the brian sperry 51 that wright drove. i don't know why they didn't put garys ascs number on the car.

if the rules allow it to be done, then everyone has the same chance to do it.

I was reffering to fulltime ASCS National teams, but something tells me you already knew that.

Dover's are not running the national tour this year. He is running regional 360 and 410 events this summer. He want's to run more 410 races to better prepare for the Knoxville Nationals and just have fun this summer not chase points.

the way i understand things as explained by Emmett Hahn was the ASCS had been wanting to run some national races in cali for some time, but cali didn't really have many local cars that could meet ASCS rules. that has changed over the past few years and with hanford and tulare now having promotors that are co-operating with each other, the time seemed right to start an ASCS region in that area. since the ASCS was coming towards the west coast to run tucson any way, Emmitt and the promotors of hanford and tulare thought why not try to fit in a couple of national races. the place on the schedule to fit them in was at the beginning of the year. no one forced anyone to come out to cali and no one told anyone they couldn't race florida. the ASCS teams that came out are the ones who plan on running the whole ASCS points season. the season started in tulare, and they were happy to be there. it had nothing to do with with whatever racing might be going on some place else. the woo are the ones that restrict their teams from participating at non woo tracks or events.

Is there a reason why they didn't run the California ASCS races back to back ~ Friday/Saturday instead of Wednesday/Saturday?

In tulare there is a gigantic agriculture fair that week yearly. And im assuming wednesday was to attract some of those people at the world ag expo to come in a take in a race.
