I obviously don't know the circumstances, but this is another reason I love being in PA. I've been in the parking lot at 6pm for a thunderstorm at Lincoln Speedway twice. Twice I saw racing. Fred Putney is the MAN.

Sorry I can't resist, but how is the sprint racing in PA today?

....and the drivers didn't have to haul 15 hours just to be told no 7 hours before the start. Might explain the low car counts, kinda risky to leave a week before Volusia only to get rained out at 11am. I have a family friend that lives right outside of Daytona in winter, he sure didn't know what the problem was yesterday.

Sorry, you took my post wrong. It was a feeble attempt at humor. I'm originally from upstate NY and I've sat in parking lots waiting for it to stop raining several times also. Florida's weather is much different than the north east. It can rain a couple inches of rain in one location and not get a drop a mile away. That's what happened at Ocala Saturday, with a forecast for more rain. It did rain more and most racing across the state was rained out. Ocala also has a very finicky surface that doesn't take much water to make it unworkable. Believe me, the track doesn't make money when the program is rained out.

Oh absolutely no hard feelings here, sorry if it came across that way. Thanks for the inside scoop, makes a lot more sense now!

Ocala Speedway doesn't drain real well and it rained in the area that night as well, so it was a moot point in the end.
I desperately wanted that race to roll off because I was bringing a decal from my website for Chad Layton, which would have been a dream come true for me really.

Hey gang. Thanks for attending our event if you were able to make it. I choose to cancel the races for Sat night due to the impending rain approaching the area nothing more nothing less. It rained Sat night at the track from around 7pm until almost 11pm. I try to be proactive with these decisions thus allowing fans and drivers to make other plans. Thanks again if you made it for Friday night, plans for next year are already laid out for a bigger event.
