Anyone having issues with Red Carpet Motel reservations this year for the 360 and/or 410 Nationals. We had some challenges last year with new "ownership"....and based on last contact I had with Rafi, looks like new management has suffered a cranial/rectal inversion.

Why don't you all go through the Chamber of Commerce and find a place to stay in someone's home? I have been hosting people since I moved here and have made great friends with my guests. I now have a couple from Ohio who have stayed with me for years and we have a ball. A couple from Australia now stay with me every year also. Normally, it is cheaper than the local motels and all the little amenities make it a great experience. I stayed with a couple for years before I moved here and we are still friends. Give it a try. You will find it a great experience for the Nats.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

My family got hooked up through the chamber and we have stayed the past 3 years with a family. We have become great friends! The family lets us use their showers in the mornings and coffee maker in the mornings. She charges us nothing but we buy her kids tickets to the races. I highly doubt you would be disappointed if you stay with a family in knoxville.

Give the Chamber a call. I've stayed with the same family for 15 years now and it couldn't have worked out any better. Compared with my first year at the Nationals and just not knowing any better, I made the mistake of staying at a motel in SE Des Moines. Motels in the area tend to double their rates during Nationals week because they know most fans will pay whatever for a room. I know of drivers/race teams renting houses or staying with families, its just a much better way to experience the Nationals.

Thanks everyone.......great info/comments. I have emailed chamber regarding getting info. The Red Carpet had new owners last year, and their proposed changes are causing great stress. I will explore other options including local housing and lodging in near-by towns...Pella was always nice. Thanks again............
