I believe that they do not allow drivers under the age of 18 to race tracks that large. That was the reason why Brian Clauson was signed on as the third KKR USAC driver. But Tyler does a hell of a job and he's always been close with the Kahne boys.

Yes, does not meet the age requirement for that size of track.

In this case the size of the track is irrelevant. You need to be 18 to race in Iowa.

I am curious as to when the 18 to race in Iowa rule (law) was implemented? For years there have been 16 year olds competing at the Knoxville Nationals as well as Oskaloosa in the sprint cars and there have been 16 year olds in other series as well including ASA and ARCA that compete at this same track. I do believe this is a USAC rule only and has nothing to do with Iowa or the Speedway's policies.

Tim, I asked an Iowa friend about Bacon and got that response. I tried searching for it in writing and cannot find it so perhaps it's a wives tale and I'm wrong. FWIW - I did see that Iowa is one of the few states that has an age restriction on 4 wheel ATV's. As you well know (but others may not), USAC does have an age restriction that allows those between 16-18 to race as long as they have been emancipated. On tracks bigger than 7/10 mile, you've got to be 18 irregardless of whether you are emancipated. I'm going to keep looking for that Iowa law though.

Bryan will not turn 18 until June 15th so he also was not allowed by USAC rules to compete at Iowa, although he will be competing at this track in ASA and ARCA competition over the next 3 weeks.
As far as the Kasey Kahne ride, As of now Bryan will be filling in at Richmond and Copper world the two tracks that Brady will not be able to compete. The remainder of the pavement USAC schedule will be run for Keith & Pete as his stock car schedule will allow.
