For Immediate Release From: Ventura Raceway Contact: Cliff Morgan: [email protected] (805) 985-5433 x115
(Oxnard, CA, November 10, 2010) Ventura Raceway will end its 2010 racing season with a very special event on Saturday night November 20, with the running of the Second Annual USAC Midgets Fall Classic presented by ARP at its Ventura County Fairgrounds Facility in Ventura CA. On that night the USAC National Midget Series will be racing on Ventura’s 1/5-mile clay oval. This race will feature all the best midget racers in the nation as they go for the glory of winning this special event.
This event will focus on the battle for who will become the USAC National Midget Champion for 2010. There will also be the battle to see who will become the USAC Western States Midget Champion that night as well. All the top National Midget stars will be there to battle on Ventura’s 1/5 mile oval that was made famous in the 1990’s when we hosted the ESPN Saturday Night Thunder Series. Last year’s event drew forty-six midgets to Ventura. This year even more cars are expected to be in attendance as the racers go for the first place winners prize of $10,000. This is a record winner purse for Ventura and is sure to bring out the best cars and drivers. Bryan Clauson currently leads Jerry Coons Jr. Darren Hagen, Tracy Hines, 2009 race winner Brad Kuhn and Dave Darland in the National Championship point race as they come into this event. In the Western States points race the leader is Ventura driver Cory Kruseman, followed by Alex Schutte, Robby Josett, Randi Pankratz and Jake Swanson. With only the Turkey Night Classic Race at Irwindale Speedway on Thanksgiving Night to follow this race, the battle for the two series championships will be intense.
Also on hand to race on the 20th will be the USAC Ford Focus and Young Gun Focus Series racers. These midget sized racecars race with a spec Ford Focus motor. Current point leaders Nick Carlson in the Focus Series and Jared Blondel in Young Guns will be here to try to continue there drive to become series champions for 2010.
Racing will get under way at 5:30 on the 20th. Front gates will open for spectator admission at 3:00pm. For more information on this special event, please call Ventura Raceway at (805) 985-5433, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 PM

I am hearing it is going to be the same as last year. Chili Bowl type format. Heat races by draw and passing points. All tallyed and reset for a second heat race with passing points. Re-tally and top 16 to feature all rest to b-main races. Should be a lot of racing and a great time...
