HOLIDAY SEASON BEGINS ON OVAL NATIONALS EVE!

(OCTOBER 27, 2010, PERRIS, CA) The holiday season will kick off one week from tonight, November 3rd, with the traditional "Oval Nationals Eve" practice session at Perris Auto Speedway. On that night, race fans will gather in a festive holiday mood full of anticipation at the annual Oval Nationals practice session. The following night will see the opening salvo fired in the 15th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals.

The practice, which will be free for the fans in the grandstands, will begin at 6:00 PM. Spectator gates will open at 5:00. Concessions will be open with pizza and beverages.

"The practice has turned into a tradition," Perris Auto Speedway promoter Don Kazarian said on Tuesday. "This special practice is for cars entered into the Oval Nationals (pre entered cars or those who enter when they get to the track on Wednesday). A majority of the cars practicing are the teams from out of town who will be getting used to the track and experimenting with their setups."

When the gates open at 4:00 PM on Thursday, the wrapping will start to come off the racing holiday gift for night number one of the Oval Nationals. More than 50 of the nations top cars and open wheel stars will stage a full program including qualifying, five 10-lap heat races, C, B and A main events. The same program will take place on Friday with the addition of the California Lightning Sprint cars who will stage their heat races.

Saturday will be like the fine holiday dinner to wrap things up with the C main, the new final transferring B Heats and the 40 lap $12,500.00 to win A main event. The California Lightning Sprint Cars will have their main event as well.

Advance tickets for the 15th Annual Budweiser Oval Nationals are on sale now. You can order by phone at: 1-800-595-4849 or online at perrisautospeedway.com or tix.com

We are going to use the over night camping area for the first time at the upcoming Ovals.

The fairgrounds says they are not letting anyone in until 8:00am Thurs. mourning.

It makes sense to me(not that it does to the fairgrounds)to start on Wed. since there will be practise that night and surly there will be fans watching and wanting to spend the night.

Has anyone on this forum ever been let in there on practise night?

Is anyone planing on trying to get in at this years practise?

I have used there over night area for 11 years. It's hit and miss with these guy's.I think that they choose to wait until Thursday to make it fair for everyone.(it more like they want the big dollar buses to get there regular spots)I know that there has been a few years when people started coming on Monday and Tuesday.Like myself, and the dude's running the area say that it's not fair to everybody who wants to stay?..(ya who?)...I travel 700+mile's each way,so I want to go down early see everything, and then some. The showers kept getting locked up,and they have been frowning on tent campers,so we desided to stop going last year.(not realy into wings sharing the spot light either)

..good luck with that...we will be at Tulare for PCN.

I am not sure and this is just me thinking. A lot of it may go back five or six years when some idiot (s)decided to go wild one night and did a lot of damage to fairgrounds property in the middle of the night. If that is the reason - and I do not know if it is or not - you really cannot blame the fairgrounds.

This is what I don't get. The Fairground people are here to make money. The camping area is just sitting vacant. Why not let people start camping on Monday morning for example, they would generate so much more money at $25.00 per night.

I realize they have had a few problems in the past, but with the extra income they could have a security person at night and still come out ahead. Last year they let people start camping on Wednesday am.

Looking forward to some great racing!
