Queens Royale Results

Farmington, MO – (September 25) – The man from down under came to town and will take the Queens crown back to Sydney, Australia. Ian Madsen in the TK Concrete, Tony’s Auto Parts, Maxim Trucking Concrete entry put on a show for the locals to capture his first Queens Victory. Starting the Main inside of row three, Madsen fell to fifth at the drop of the flag. Tim Montgomery, Robbie Standridge, Keith Burch and Jerrod Hull pulled away. The thirty-lap affair ran eleven laps before the first caution came out. Robbie Standridge had just taken the lead going down the back straight. When he came into turn three the in the middle of his groove was the stalled car of Jason Hunt. Robbie slid his car sideway to avoid a direct hit on Hunt. Both cars were able to continue, but had to start at the end of the field. With the field bunched up for the restart, Madsen began to work his magic toward the front. Caution number 2 came out again for Jason Hunt in his mount and with this being his second push was relegated to the pit area. Two more caution flags appeared for the connected cars of Kevin Lee and A J Bruns and one for Tommy Worley for a stalled car. Early front runner Tim Montgomery had issues with his car and fell back in the field and came home with a 18th place showing. At the finish following Madsen are Past All Star Champion Greg Wilson for second, third belongs to Jerrod Hull. Fourth place honors go to Keith Burch and completing the top five Fairmount, IN driver Brandon Wimmer. During qualifying for the event Keith Burch established a new track record by turning a lap of 11.143. Robbie Standridge and Tim Montgomery also broke the old record, which was held by Lee Dunn, with a time of 11.283. That record was established in October of 1998. Dunn is also a past winner of the Queens as he captured the event in 1997. Special Thanks goes to Boen’s Signs, Lines and Designs for putting up $100 to win for the Sprint Dash.
