A great crowd saw an excellent night of racing in the Shaheen's Blast From The Past at Jacksonville Speedway. Twenty eight cars were on hand. AJ Bruns won Heat 1, Chris Urish won heat 2, with Tom Dickerman winning heat 3.

Joey Moughan won the Dash followed by Chris Urish, Brandon Sheppard, Brian Brown, AJ Bruns, Tom Dickerman Jarrod Hull and Brandon Wimmer.

The feature would line up according the the dash finish and Joey Moughan, driving the Pollock 21x took the lead from the start. Brian Brown shattered a U-Joint while running third 3 laps into the race ending his night..

Moughan checked out and held a substantial lead until a yellow on lap 23 for a Bruns spin brought out a yellow. Moughan again assumed control but Shane Stewart had muscled his way from mid pack to a second place position and on the green flag gave chase to Moughan followed by Urish, Sheppard and Hull.

A flip by Ohio's Kevin Lee brough out the red on lap 27 of the 30 lap feature with the order on the restart Moughan, Stewart, Hull, Urish, Wimmer and Sheppard. Moughan lost some momentum on the restart getting slightly off the track on the front stretch, allowing Stewart within striking distance. Stewart made a bold slide job in turn 4 just after the restart and was able to get by Moughan and hold on until the checkers.

The top 5: Shane Stewart, Joey Moughan, Jarrod Hull, Brandon Wimmer, Brandon Sheppard

Special recognition goes to 17 year old UMP Late Model driver Brandon Sheppard who made only his 2nd full night start in a sprint car, started on the pole of the dash and finished in the top 5 against a very experienced field of veteran sprint car drivers.

We will post complete results at JacksonvilleSpeedway.com on Saturday.

"A flip by Ohio's Kevin Lee brough out the red on lap 27 of the 30 lap feature..."

Kevin had a ton of help in tipping over. Does Jordon Goldsberry always drive like an out of control idiot?

On a more positive note, the 3J team had a good time on the trip west.

Well from what I seen the 65 car started last and made it up to 7th when the not so talented Kevin Lee jumped the cushion and went over, on another note how about Shane Stewart, now that's a driver!!!
