Good crowd and a really fast track for the final regular season points night. Starting the evening with four of the seven championships determined, only one came down to the final turn and a drag race to the finish line for the crown. Charles Day started the night 100 pts ahead of Randy Bailey and just needed to finish the heat race to wrap up the title. Bailey did everything neededto do by winning his hear and the feature but Day ran second in both heat and feature to capture the championship. In the mini-stocks division, Stanley Powell led Jay Caraveau and Leroy Burger by 11 and 19 points at the outset of the program. With twice the nomal field of cars, Burger and Powell put together heat wins with Caraveau finishing second setting up the final run for the championship. Burger took the lead on lap 5 of the feature with Caraveau third and Powell fifth. Caraveau was making a hard charge for second on lap 18 when he went up in smoke leaving Powell to come home in the fourth position and taking the championship. In the best race of the night, Steve Robinson led Tad Sweitzer by 13 points coming into tonights final points night. Sweitzer won his heat race with Robinson running second making the top finisher of the feature the champion for 2010. Sweitzer took the lead on lap 3 and looked to have things going his way. A second yellow on lap 6 bunched the field and allowed Robinson to start chipping away at Sweitzers' lead. As the white flag fell Robinson went to the high side and pulled even with the Blue #22 of Sweitzer, coming out of turn 4 he pulled even and won the drag race to the finish line taking the win and claiming the championship.

A very good night of racing, looking forward to the fall & winter nationals later next month.

Yes, but those 5 to 6 put on a pretty good show.
