The no go on the pothole 500 starts about 36 mins.

Make sure you pay attention to the video about at the hour mark when Slick Mick is talking. He just gets done blasting Detroit. What you need to listen to is what he says about the motorsports market.

Brainstorming started 3-4 years ago. Serious conversation started last August and then building last January.

Budget cuts on the true public servants(firemen, police , etc) eliminated 100 jobs for the fiscal year.
$400,000 would have kept a few of those people employed.

The mayor is a sports car guy. And my experience with sports car guys is that when they are in power, dirt track racing takes a back seat. Some of my best friends are sports car guys, but that does not mean I want them ruling the world. LOL
Could have been a mutual working together here, SFS/ALMS. Now there is neither.

Mick was obviously bothered by the outcome. He did his best to show no emotion, but you can tell the seeds were sown.
karma's a bitch.

You could tell the steam coming out of his ears when they other council people sasid that they were voting no for it. When one of the council people was talking about how Okc laidoff people and cut pay of others. He said that this 7 mill was a slap in a face to those people and he just could not vote for it. Cornett asked his you know a no vote will not rehire those people.
What a jackwad
