Why doesn't the promtions team work with someone from The Tulsa area & have this race at Hallett ???

As a dedicated road course and not a temporary street course it would take place where Bricktown / OKC and Tulsa traffic wouldn't be affected on a 4th of July weekend.

I went to Hallett in the late 70's. Very nice facility.

First famous racer I ever met was Peter Gregg. I was 10 and had heard Danny Ongias was driving that weekend. Danny wiped out at Indy, so he wasn't there.

My friend that took me there, was my age. He worshipped Peter Gregg, complete with die casts of the Brumos Porsche. We were standing by the race car waiting for someone to run us off, and I asked him if he had ever mey Gregg before. "Oh no, he is way too busy and famous to bother with me." So, I'm thinking "well, it's not like their driving supermodifieds, he can't be all that and a bag of chips".

I walked into the tent like I owned the place, with my friend in tow. I asked "which one of you is Peter Gregg?", (my friend having a nervous breakdown upon hearing that), a guy to the left answers."Well, some say that would be me". He gives us autographs while his friends look at us like we're from the boondocks, and as we leave I asked him if he was famous, which is where my friend drug me out of tent. LOL

The Brumos Porsche Gregg had in his stall that day was recently valued at $750,000 on e-b*y, or rather one just like it.

Hallett was a very nice facility, loaded with trees, green grass and a challenging road course. I'm certain it still is.

Danny Ongias ride, or could have been the #00 , identical to this one. Danny had run everything , but the writing on the wall at Indy said he needed road racing time.
