Gotta post this on RFTP.
Ya know, those vids from MAR/CAR and OkC we've been putting up have been viewed in the Charlotte area quite a bit.
Wonder if they had an influence. 70,000 views from 109 videos since December.

1200 cc engines
non-wing
and yes some NCRA alumni guys have been giving input for this. Turns out OkC has had a man on the inside.
Doc Grice's son, Monte has been working to some extent as well as Shane Carson. Evernham has been pumped about the whole apparently. I'm sure there are others .
Ray Evernham comes from the NE modified persuasion (DIRT). He was running a dirt car on Flemingtons asphalt before he got fully into NASCAR , and that is the first time I had heard of him. His influences must have been the older coupes that ran in the NE. Since they have been honored with what we know now as "Legends" cars, I guess he digs the next thing to them.

I just received a pic of a 'wedge type' car as well. Much like Danny Daniels wedge shaped car from the late '70s. They will let it out later on the web.
Also, it appears the Vicky body is being given heavy consideration.

The wedge car is much like something between the shape of these two.

You know what I find kinda interesting Brain. Is that for awhile Oklahoma and Texas and some good 1200cc mini sprints races. Had good car counts in around DFW as well. Then all of sudden they went away. This is kinda a rebirth if you say of 1200cc mini sprints IMO.
Depending on what happens with all of this I could see this class gathering alot of interest esp in Oklahoma.
You said that there was alot of hits from around Charlotte area on your youtube posts. I would say you had some help in this as well Brain.

What would you do if this took off and your a driver? Would you use your own paint scheme and such or would you go retro and use the exact same paint scheme and old-time logos as your family relation who use to race these or your favorite driver from that era?

I was thinking the same thing David.

Riz
I would like to see it back out there if at all possible. It was so cool seeing it out there.

Give us more pics please! Have you run this car at Creek County? I saw one like this last year on a video.
Oh, by the way,- Nice lines on that car. Hits the mark for me.

RIZ, I love your ride.
Kinda diggin' the whole Legends "throwback" idea.
If the times and economic climate were better, it would be awesome if a brave soul took a chance on a new type of car.
Two or four barrel, 305 or 360 non-wing sprint. Full, nostalgia style bodywork. '60's, '70's, early '80's all the way. Just like RIZ's car.
IHRA has done this very well with nostalgia funny cars.
I'd be in the stands every week.

Now see that's what I've been talking about!
Throwbacks versus new styles- Keep the playing field level, and entertain the stands. "Entertainment", remember that? Used to draw paying people into the stands, which drew more money (inflationwise) for the racers.
