Winged Sprint Cars and Modifieds on the Same Night at Chowtown

This Saturday night the Chowchilla Speedway presents one of the best racing events a fan could ask for as the injected 360 Winged Sprint Cars and the Western Modifieds will compete on the same night of racing. The phones have been ringing off the hook with race teams calling as this is the only winged sprint car race in the State on this night, so car counts should be strong.

The Western Modifieds will make their return to the Chowchilla Speedway after a three week break in the action for this exciting class. Calls are coming in from top drivers from all over the territory and most are looking for tune up races to prepare for the upcoming $5,000 to win Pacific Dirt Nationals held on October 15th, 16, and 17th at the Chowchilla Speedway.

In addition to the Winged Sprint Cars and the Dirt Modifieds three local classes will compete on this super night of racing. They are the Super Stocks, Hobby Stocks and 4-Bangers. Last weekend the Super Stocks became super competitive as three drivers were running nearly identical times throughout the main event, and a new track record was set by a fourth driver named Bob Smith when he clocked an 18.734 in qualifying. Roy Hart Jr. picked up his first main event win in some time and is looking to make it two in a row this weekend.

Ryan Hart set a new track record of 20.451 and then won the main event in the Hobby Stocks last weekend making one great night for the Harts. Kodie Dean set a new track record in the 4-Bangers with a lap of 21.980 and Johnny Tevis won the main event with a very impressive drive that let everyone know he was going to be a driver to beat the rest of the year.

Winged Sprints Cars, Dirt Modifieds, Super Stocks, Hobby Stock and 4-Bangers all on one fast and fun night of racing! Qualifying starts at 5:30pm for all classes, with racing to follow right after qualifying.

Come out and enjoy the action this Saturday night at Chowchilla Speedway. Adult tickets are $15, youth are $10 (ages 6-12), and children five and under get in for free with a paying adult. For more information go to www.racechowchilla.com

I "almost" went there several weeks ago. Noticed in the FRESNO BEE there would be a sprint car show. Glad I didn't go. I think they had 7-8 cars show up!Frown
