I read that he was at Mercer Raceway Park last Saturday walking around the pits. He still has a long road to recovery but is on his way.
I did read that he has also made the decision to retire from the sport. He feels like he's put his family through so much in dealing with this and never wants to have the chance of that happening again.

Dont know how bad he was hurt but burns are the worst, and that decision is completely understandable. If anybody knows charlie would you please relate to him good luck to him and his family from a fan...

Charlie was up to see me in the announcing booth last Saturday at Mercer. He looks to like he is coming along pretty good considering how badly he was burned. He has chosen to retire, putitng his family first ahead of racing.
Scott Bonnell has also decided to hang up his driving gloves after his terrible crash this year. He currently has everything up for sale. Both drivers are class individuals who will be greatly missed on the track. They provided outstanding memories for those of us in Western Pa. who were fortunate enough to see them race.
It is sad to see their careers end this way, but it could have been so much worse given the severity of their crashes.
