returning to the Nats again this year , we only would have done "one"thing different last year ? , them meddlin kids took off with the loot! shame on us fro not locking up coolers, shame on them for takeing the entire fleet of coolers! not just the beer !! lesson learned , we figured the hiest was worth approx $200 , thats just our camp site , other camping nieghbors joined us in our Three bears/Goldy lox shenanigans . I guess we figured Knox was a "smalltown USA" atmosphere, most in attendance have the funding to travel clear across the USA to attend the Nats, they proubly have the money (and respect) to buy thier own Beer? , Kinda puts a damper on the night and a wierd feeling in the air Anyway Just a friendly FYI attendies, have a ball!! see you there...

We have been locking up our coolers for quite a few years now. We never had any issues with our coolers dissappearing, but after I be-friended quite a few people from their around my age (mid 20s) we started locking them up either inside the camper or locking the cooler to the axle of the camper. The couple friends I have that live their said they used to love nationals week in high school because it was easy access to a ton a free booze when all the race fans are at the races.

our thoughts exactly! were from the midwest , were just too darn trusting , I hope they got sicker than Sh^t off our beer.. lol !

do what we did years ago. buy bottles and drink one and then fill it with used beer. cap it, ice it down, and leave it out. that will be the last cooler you will ever have taken.

Just better hope they don't return the favor and put a few like that back in your cooler.
Might want to make sure the top is sealed on all of your bottles after the races.

At least the kids stealing the beer are not adding to Knoxville's extremely high teen pregnancy rate; however, while they are drinking their girls are taking care of the out of town guests. I would bet that the OB department at the hospital is very busy in May each year.

same thing happened to my dad and i at lernerville during the firecracker 100. we left our cooler up in the seats over night to mark our seats and someone decided to take it. it was covered in autographs including kevin harvick, kenny schrader, dave blaney, steve kinser, and about 4 others. kinda sad, but im guessing it was the same morons that decided to steal the water truck and wreck it. just goes to show that nothing is safe anymore
