Again these numbers are from the heats and the winners are how they finished taking the checkered.
Mods- 12 cars Feature winner- Bailey Notes- Ran two heats with the winners being Day and French from Jenks. The two heats had side by side racing in it. When it came to the feature time Kirk and Crabill where on the front row. Spencer took the early lead on the first lap however Crabill spun coming off of four and collected Wolfe. Wolfe suffered no damage but Crabill took the car to the infield. On the restart Kirk took the lead however Goforth passed him. Positions 2-7 was very hotly contested. Goforth was running strong at half way Baliey started to breath a little down Goforth's back. They had a restart for a Day/Spencer spin on that restart Baliey passed Goforth on the high side and never looked back.
Pro/ Street Stocks- 13 cars Feature Winner- Wolfe Notes- Heat winner were Wolfe and Goodnight, The feature was won by Wolfe who led from flag to flag. He had another strong car tonight. The race for second was between Goodnight and Reed. There was numerous laps were both of the drivers were side to side. Reed finished ahead of Goodnight at the end of the race. Jeremy Allen had another accident as he spun in two and got hit in the front. He never came back out and take the green for the A Lehew hit the wall hard and seemed to break an axle on his RR side.
Mini Stocks- 7 cars Feature Winner- Burger Notes- Rick Goforth is now driving a Mini Stock. If I am not mistaken it is the 21 car out of Enid. The heat race again had three wide racing at one point in it. Powell was leading the heat race when they had a restart and Burger passed him for the lead. Burger came from the back of the heat. In the feature the top 5 at the beginning of the race was very close to each other. David Stone took the lead and Burger passed him for the lead when Jay Caraveau spun in front of the field. After the pass Burger was never challenged for the lead.
Sport Mods- 19 cars Feature Winner- Jorski Notes- Mark Robinson was his heat as well as did Jorski, Tad Sweiter and Justin Allen. Jorski's heat saw a three car battle between him, Joe Butin and Zack Nickel at the beginning of the race. The Feature had Joe Buntin and Chris Taylor on the front. Joe Buntin took the early lead until Mark Norwood had a spin in two. With a complete restart Joe Buntin took the lead again. Had the car to beat until a yellow came out for a Justin Allen flat time. On the restart Joey Butin passed Joe and then Jorski passed Joey. Jorski never really was threaten for the lead once he took. Justin Allen finished third after having to start on the back from changing the flat tire.
E-Sprint- 9 cars Feature Winner- Brewer Notes- It was nice to see a nice car feature in this class. At one point in the heats Stinson brake rotor was on fire. It put itself out though without and damage to the car. The feature had Stinson and Haurd on the front row. Stinson got out to the front early. Haurd then passed Stinson. White then passed Haurd for the lead as Haurd got loose in two and pushed up the track. The best mover however was made by Brewer twice in basically the same spot. As White was leading Brewer diamond the third and fourth corner and drove under White in four for the lead. After Brewer passed White he checked out and not one every got close to him to battle for the lead.
Champs- 11 cars Feature Winner- K. Cobb Notes- Heat Winners were K. Cobb and Allen. Starting on the front row for the feature was David Lambert and Drew Harless. Cheese was suppose to start up front though he chose to goto the back Harless got out to the early lead and held it for quite awhile. Cobb was using the high side of the track to pass cars. At one point there was a three to four car battle for 2nd between, Lambert, both Cobbs and Allen. K. Cobb got by Harless using the low side and checked out. Brandon pulled off early during the feature.
Mini Sprints- 3 cars Feature Winner- Regal Notes-Regal swept the night and he won both the feature and heat. The racing said pretty close in the early stages of the heat and feature. Shorty Burch got the early lead in the feature but Regal passed him and that is all the she wrote.
Personal notes- Crowd was good for a 100 degree plus day. Track was dusty but overall not to bad. Track took rubber in the 2nd feature. I am starting to see more and more different cars at Brill's every week. Brewer had his midget at the track hot lapping it and I thought I could see a midget race on this track. Also, Strike Hill had an ASCS car there as well and I think the track would be a challenge for the ASCS guys.
