Jason Johnson)The Shop Motorsports and Jason Johnson will once again join forces for 07. After a very successful season the complete team will stay intact for another assault of the ASCoT Championship. Jason is currently competing in Australia for the World Sprintcar Series Championship for car owner Darren Disbury. After missing the first three races at East Bay last winter, that will not be the case in 07 as Jason will return on January 17th to the states. The Shop Motorsports team has brought on board King Racing and Polk Refrigerated trucking. Utilizing Eagle chassis that are powered by Wesmar engines, Jason and car owner Lanny & Allen Row believe they have a winning combination. Hoosier tires, Butlerbuilt seats, Weld Wheels, Crow seatbelts, Design 500 racesuits, Pro Shocks, Bell Helmets, FK Rod Ends, Ben Cook rotors, Gleco Plating, Racediecast.com and Custom Equipment Design are the teams winning sponsors. Marvin Pearson also joined up with a Wesmar 360 at Jason's disposal. The team will also compete in all NCRA events when it doesn't conflict with the ASCoT schedule. ASCS regional shows may also fill in open dates when possible. More information can be found at www.jasonjohnsonracing.com 11/4

And...

King Racing and The Shop Motorsports work together for the 2007 racing season

Jetmore, KS ? King Racing is extending its ethanol promotion efforts for the 2007 race season by leasing the blue and white ethanol truck and trailer to The Shop Motorsports and Jason Johnson Racing, Greenville, TX. As part of the agreement, the ethanol decaling will remain on the trailer for the 2007 season, allowing race fans to see the familiar truck and trailer travel the country for the 2007 National ASCS Tour races and NCRA races when possible.

"Steve believed in ethanol and worked hard to promote it. We decided to lease the truck and trailer to Jason to extend Steve's work with ethanol across the country," said Danny King, King Racing.

Steve, who drove the family-owned #88 sprint car sponsored by ICM/Ethanol, died after an August 9th accident during this year's Knoxville Nationals in Knoxville, IA. He was the 2002 and 2003 NCRA 360 Sprint Car champion and was second in points at the time of his death.

For Jason Johnson, the 2006 season was his most successful to date. He finished the season second in the ASCS National Tour standings. A highlight of his season was his third place finish at The Knoxville Nationals. During 2006, Johnson amassed 21 feature victories.

"Steve and I were really good friends, and we really miss him," Johnson said. "We are excited to be working with the King family to spread Steve's ethanol message throughout the country this coming year."

Johnson and his wife Bobbi are headed to Australia later this month to take part in the World Sprint Series tour. They will return to the US just days before the ASCS National Tour opener at East Bay Raceway, Tampa, FL, on January 25, 2007.

"It is important to note that ICM/Ethanol was Steve's sponsor," said Johnson. "They agreed to this arrangement upon Danny's request. This should not be misconstrued as a sponsorship of me or the #41 The Shop Motorsports sprint car. We simply want to help fulfill Steve's vision."

FastnCrash,

There were rumors flying around that Jason Johnson was going to hit the road with one of the big 410 sanctions, but when the race team announced that he will, once again, be chasing the ASCoT Championship along with various NCRA and ASCS regional shows in 2007, I just wanted to let our race fans know.

Contrary to what people may have read elsewhere, the ASCoT will be hosting a second SPEEDWEEKS in our upper Midwest area in June of 2007 and race fans will get to see Jason Johnson, along with all the other ASCS National drivers tearing up the dirt in Nebraska, South Dakota, Iowa and Minnesota.

Watch for ASCS updates periodically on this message board...CZ

Yes, Jason will be back on the ASCS series but not everything will be the same as it was last year. Him and Bobbi as of right now will be coming back from Austrailia on January 17th and heading to the shop. The rumor/partial truth that Jason was going out on one of the 410. That got started after the Nationals when Tony Stewart got his phone # to work on some plans and see if Jason would be interested in driving for Tony in 07' since McMahon wont be as of August. Things can change tho, but as of lastnight when i talked to him and Bobbi from Austrilia he was going to come back and drive for Lanny. As of right now the only time he will be up in the SF area is on June 17th but things can change. One other change to the team is one of his team guys will not be back for next year, Wayne Persy (main crew guy on the #41) will be going back to school to be a high school football coach. So there is the other stuff that was not put on the website post and message boards. cant wait to see him kick everyones a** again like he did last year in the midwest.
