I did not know to many cars as I am not a regular to Enid but I can give some of the results
41 sport mods- David has the official results in his post
4 late models- Kip Hughes
7 factories- I think it was Sessions
24 mods- G3 Grimell Tims was going to run away with it but broke
10 street/ pro - Guy from Hutch The only two city guys that I thought were from the city was Goodnight and Flash
11 pure stocks- Have no idea
I had to keep reminding myself that it was not the fairgrounds. I have been to Enid a couple of times so I knew what to expect but I found myself zoning the fairgrounds. Crowd was excellent. The concession stand ran out of food it was that packed. There was a disagreement between drivers, a partial Joey Chitwood thrill show as a sport mod jumped the brim of the track and got all four tires in the air. A sport mod tried taking on the grader parked outside of one.
I am not going to gripe on the time being that there were 41 sport mods however I walked in the door at 12:30. Pretty good racing once the yellows cured themselves.
Overall, it was a good night of racing and a good night of meeting people. The people of Enid seemed very happy and they are lucky to have Beckley as a promoter. I think once things get hammered out alot of stuff will run smoother.
Would I go back? Yes, I would however it would be for special shows.

Thanks for your comments............one thing Erich you forgot to mention almost 35 minutes of weather hold with rain during the show.

I thought it was a great show compared to what Enid has had had in the last couple of years.i do agree with Erich and think Ed should stick to once a month special shows and maybe mix in some other motorsports.and i personally really liked the sunday evening deal.it allows my kids to race there tracks on friday and saturday and still get to watch on sunday,or race on sunday in the future.i agree there were too many yellow flags, something i seen last week at 81 speedway i thought was neat was they still had the 2 yellow rule for individuals but also a if there were 5 yellows for the field they went green, white checkered no matter how many laps they had in.it keeps people from watching cars go around on pace laps all night.allthough Enid was good at getting cars lined back up again last night.other observations, the restart cone operator needed to pay a little more attention to his job,he left the cone out several times resulting it it getting hit and cars taking avassive action to miss it.the announcer needs a lot of work, they are dull and not very informative, announcers should be enertaining the crowd on yellows and rain delays instead of boring them and making you wish they would just shut up and turn on some music.all in all great car count, nice track, super crowd.i hope Ed and all the gang can keep up the good work,i know it should only improve.JMO Gary Clift

Congrats on the great show last night.
The little bit of rain appeared to actually help the track in the end. Track seemed very fast with 2 and 3 wide racing most of the night.
I agree with the cone issue, maybe it should be put center of the back stretch next time to help the drivers see it and avoid it better.
Good luck with the next show. When was that they said? August 29th?

i agree with everything said above , good job Ed , enid needed to get back on track and your doing it , i really liked the idea of bringing the drivers on the front straight after the races and presenting them there trophies, while the crowd is still there most tracks dont even give trophies or wait till all the races are over to give them away and by then the crowds all gone , so nice touch on the trophy deal. Plus glad to see all the grass mowed , even on the north end , usually couldnt see a car when it goes off 3 and 4, keep up the good work. Van Norris

I agree with the giving the trophies out after the race thats how it was done back home in Illinois/Missouri so that is what Im use to. My Husband about a month ago won His very first A Mod feature He was so excited and It took Him 3 weeks to get His trophy by then the excitement was over. It woulda just been nice to get the trophy in that moment......

Sorry about that Ed. I take blame for not putting that in there about the rain. Although, you did a good job in not letting the track get away from you while the light shower came though.
It is your track and all but I would suggest maybe a number of yellows for the field. Like someone mentioned earlier. I was sitting in front of someone last night that made a mention of this as well.
I will still stand behind you and say it was a good show and an exciting one as well.

I don't think the yellows were unreasonable.....sometimes it just works like that. Maybe major league baseball ought to have a limit on foul balls......too many and just send the teams home or to the bench??! Nobody loves yellows, but they happen....you pay to watch a race, not sending races to the pits. Good job Ed.......biggest crowd in years and really good car count first night out!!

I agree about the baseball analogy however when you said unreasonable in regards to yellows someone might have thought that they were excessive. As a promoter, it is Ed's business not mine, you are fighting allot of things for someones dollar. I have seen plenty of tracks and programs that were very well thought out and executed fail because of time.
I understand also that his main fan base is the people of Enid and the surrounding cities.
I made a suggestion and I did not say it should be done that way. Ed is the one that will be the one making the ultimate decision. Like I said I support him and the track.

Also, I would like to state that I am not naive enough to think that there will not be any yellows in any type of auto racing.
Promoting is a tough business and Ed has done it long enough to kow what works and what does not. As the old saying you can not please everyone all of the time works in this business. What you hope for is that the majority of the people are happy and come back. Which from what I saw last night I think Ed accomplished his goal.

I agree Erich there will always be yellows,it's just part of the sport.reflog what helps with the 5 yellow rule on the field is to eliminate the drivers that spin and intentionally set there till the yellow comes out, they are the ones that hurt the show and in my opinion there should be a limit on foul balls in baseball especially in paid professionals.
I think everybody left last night thinking they got there moneys worth and will be looking forward to the next race.

Yeah but with foul balls someone gets a souvineir. Plus its entertaining to watch the fans catch em. Maybe for every yellow someone should chunk a t-shirt into the stands. Make it more enjoyable. Lol.

that might be a great way to get sponsors involved.have sponsored yellow flags with someone throwing out t shirts, hats, frisbees, free concessions coupons, free passes to next race etc.then people would look forward to the yellows, except the poor guy leading.81 speedway even has a restart cone sponsor withWaste Management, how about some free cones from Braums or sonic or mc donalds everytime the restart cone is used.how about free passes to Comet go karts when there is a single car spin, call it future driving lessons, some free BbQ passes when someone smokes an engine, donuts when someone cuts a tire, the possibilities are endless.yellow flags could be more entertaining with a little thought.

I really agree with most everything above......I don't think anyone really enjoys yellow flags but they are a part of racing whether we like it or not.......but I like the positive spin put on it in the previous posts!! If the fans are somehow involved during the lull in the action, and maybe a little something in it for them, it would make the wait less painful for these necessary evils........

By far the best car count and races Enid has had in many years. Great job Ed, thats the reason you was named promotor of the year. Thank you for taking on Enid.
