Open Wheel Modifieds have the night off this Saturday but LIMITED Modifieds are racing on July 10th. The track is off on July 17th so this week is the last race before the COMP Cams Summer Nationals.

If you like like your open wheel racing with WINGS on top though, you are in all kinds of good luck THIS SATURDAY, July 10th as Ark-La-Tex Speedway presents "Wings over the ArkLaTex" Night with THREE different divisions of traveling series converging on Vivian, Louisiana!

Headlining the action will be the full-sized, outlaw-type winged Sprint Cars of the Southern Thunder Sprints! (Racesaver 305 rules).

Joining them are the equally exciting ArkLaTex Winged Modifieds!

And also racing, are the mighty winged mini-sprints of the Southern Outlaw Wing 600s! (ASCS2 rules)

In addition, Ark-La-Tex Speedway points racing continues for the EZ Rental Limited Modifieds, Day Motor Sports Pro-Mods and All Point Systems Factory Stocks. Also racing are the Cruiser=Beginners.

Cya @the land of 3-wide, Ark-La-Tex Speedway THIS SATURDAY NIGHT!

LIMITED MODIFIEDS - you now have a little more incentive to race at Ark-La-Tex Speedway at our next 3 shows including THIS Saturday, July 10th with the winged classes, then the COMP Cams Summer Nationals on July 23rd and 24th and again on Saturday, August 7th. (track is closed on July 17th, July 31st and August 14th -- racing every other week as scheduled and planned out back in January!)

Why?

Because on Saturday, August 21st, the 3rd Annual Tootsie Smith Memorial comes to Ark-La-Tex Speedway and in a ONE-day show with NO entry fee, will pay the winner $3000!

Come get used to the track and get you a set-up!!!

Modifieds have $2000 to shoot for but now the LIMITED Modifieds have even more incentive to run the Comp Cams Summer Nationals and that's to get a set-up for this:

'Heat race' wasn't really the right term there...

The COMP Cams Summer Nationals being a 2-day show will mean MORE laps this weekend and a great Saturday night show for the fans too!

THIS Friday, July 23rd we'll have an extended practice session from 7PM up till around 9PM depending on car count. Then you'll have an extended 'heat' race that is really more like a short feature or a B-main in length. Each driver will run one race Friday night and it won't be an 8-lap race and you're done. Depending on car count, some classes may have one race and take the top 4 to Saturday's A. Other classes may have 2 races and take the top 2 from each and if the count is really good in a class, it will be 4 races and all the winners will lock in. NO passing points this time. It's draw in and then use the heads-up finishes to set the first two rows of Saturday's A-main and the qualifying races' line-ups.

You can enter on Saturday but you'll line-up behind the Friday night cars. There will however be 16 spots open to qualifying on Saturday plus one non-qualifier will be drawn into the 21st starting spots and then the 22nd starting spots will be auctioned off in each class so.... 18 spots still available going into Saturday's show!

All the classes (except Beginner-Cruisers of course) will pay at least $100 just to start in Saturday's A-main. Modifieds are $140 to start. Friday's pit pass is $25 and Saturday's is $30 and again....NO entry fee

This format is going to make for an excellent 3 1/2 to 4 hour show for the fans on Saturday night too. The race track should be in good shape and with qualifying races already half-done by the time Friday night is in the books, it'll be ON by the time Saturday's first race hits the track. The race track should be in great shape too. I bet the action will be top-notch, side-by-side and very competitive in Saturday night's A-mains!!!

Heck, with the qualifiers going on very early tonight, the track will be primo for passing! A late entryy could wind up starting on the third row of the A-main! For Mods, that's a $2000 to win A-main!!! Just a $30 pit pass with NO entry fee either.

Bargain for the fans too. Just $10 to get in the grandstand with kids 10 and under, FREE!
