What year was that? I'm assuming it is during an early '90's Nationals. Thanks

It is just about one more month 'til nationals time, with people pulling out photos from the boxes it would be kinda cool to start only ONE thread dedicted to Knoxville Nationals only photos from years gone by.
Whatcha think?

I was at K-ville that yr, Kenny Jacobs started Sat night on the front row beside Steve Kinser.
When asked in interviews earlier that week what was it like starting on the front row next to The King, Jacobs said ,"It's like fighting Mike Tyson w/ 1 hand tied behind my back " .....

Actually, that could be crew chief Kelly Pryor, who hot lapped the car when Jeff was late arriving at Knoxville due to running a champ car that afternoon, I think on the Springfield Illinois' mile dirt track.
The last I knew, Kelly was working for John Force Racing. Not to mention the fact that the NHRA stole one of the best Sprint Car announcers at the time, Dave Reiff !!!
Ahhhhhhhh, another twist in the plot, you gotta love it don't ya ????

Weikerts always rolled out a beautiful race car. Now that you mention it, that doesnt "look like" Jeff in the car.

That's exactly what I thought also Brad.................the only reason I remember the Kelly Pryor deal is that I was standing in the Weikert pit when Kelly was zipping up "his" uniform before hot laps and actually snapped a few pictures of the moment also!
Man, do I ever miss Pappy Weikert!!!!!!!
Not only did he talk shit, he backed it up, and was truly a one of a kind car owner that definately livened things up when one of his Beef Mobiles would roll through the pit gate!!!
