FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DAVID CARDEY WINS THIRD MAIN IN THREE WEEKS!

(JUNE 16, 2010, RIVERSIDE, CA) The hottest Sprint Car west of the Mississippi, Riverside, California's David Cardey, won his third main event in his last three outings when he beat a 22-car field to win the USAC/CRA main event at Perris Auto Speedway last Saturday. The three victories tie Cardey for seventh on the jackslash.com nationwide 410 Non Wing Sprint Car victory list for 2010.

Fresh off his win in the Don Blair owned Sprint Car at the Victorville Auto Raceway the previous Saturday, Cardey was back behind the wheel of his own Viper Chassis/Pick's Racing Engines powered #59 for the Perris race. In qualifying, the 2003 California Lightning Sprint Car champion clocked a 17.283, which was seventh quick in the 30 car field. That time placed him near the back for the start of the third heat race. Cardey wasted little time at the back and drove his bright red Sprint Car to a second place finish in the ten-lap race and a second row starting spot in the 30 lap main.

Cardey ran second in the earlier part of the main event before dropping back to third on lap 10, but by the time the race reached the waning laps, he was back up to second.

In the USAC/CRA races at The PAS on March 27th and April 10th, Cardey led 35 of the 60 main event laps, but a mechanical problem and an empty fuel tank left him with 16th and 11th place finishes. On May 29th, he only led three laps, but they were the last three after a restart. In replay fashion this past Saturday, he did the exact same thing! He took the lead on a restart with three laps to go and drove away from the field for another crowd pleasing victory.

Moments after winning the main and accepting the accolades of the large, appreciative crowd, Cardey spoke of the win. "His (two-time defending USAC/CRA champion and current point leader Mike Spencer) car was so good that I really didn't know if we had anything for him," Cardey said after his seventh career USAC/CRA win. "I got a couple of yellows there at the end and was able to adjust my shocks and get a little bit better bite. I think he still might have been better than me, but it's hard to pass sometimes when someone gets out front."

Cardey will return to USAC/CRA competition when the series returns to Perris Auto Speedway on Saturday, July 3rd.

As always, David Cardey would like to thank the valuable sponsors who keep him on the track in his racing endeavors. Circle Track Performance, iTi Performance Motorsports, Pick's Racing Engines, Racer's Pub, 5-Star Gas & Gear, Monster Media, Down's Oil, Empire Plumbing, Don, Boss and Scott Daloisio Sports. Cardey isn't coming up north for the 2 day run at Ocean 18th and Petaluma 19th?

Pretty sure they are a small self funded team who would love to travel but cant afford to make every date on the schedule and are keeping it local.

Won three in a row with no damage, you would almost think they could afford it.

I dont think that at all. You can, free world and all that...

Im not sure what VV pays to win, im sure its less than the USAC series, but three wins worth of money in still leaves a big difference vs money out funding a team, continuing to fund a team, transport, hotels, gas, food etc...

This isnt for the Cardey deal alone, every team out there has got to be in the same boat.

Hell im running at a loss and all I pay for is gasoline and food.
