The guy from Kansas is the new promoter in Enid for the rest of the 2010 season. Hopefully Ed will make a post on here on what his plans are for the rest of the season. I guess 4 races is better then nothing.

Ladies and Gentlemen you beat me to the green flag.

Here is what I can tell you right now..........is this has all has happened very sudden and I am not prepared with any kind of real statement. Presently I am already scrambling with my World of Outlaw Sprint Car dates next weekend June 11 and 12th.

As soon as we can we shall put together some kind of a schedule, it is not going to be every week that is for sure. What I am planning is making this all work towards the historical Enid Winter Nationals. That means we are going to race.... just how much I cannot tell you right now because I have to check with other tracks in the area and work together to help you the racers have a place to race and not step on these other tracks that have somewhat picked up the slack so to speak.

My initial plans are for motorsports events once a month in Enid.

I am truly hoping I can put some of this together soon. Probably not soon enuff for you but I am being up front with you and that is the way I am.

No matter what - I need your help. I need all of you and there is one thing about me ........... I have two ears and one mouth. That means I will listen to you and give you the RESPECT that you give me.

That's all I got for now.......hang on I am on your side!

If possible lets continue the street stock nationals. You have always put on a great monster truck show here in Enid so I do have faith in you that the track can get back to where it was.

I would like to welcome Ed to Enid Speedway

I think this is great for Enid,Ed is one of the best all around motorsports promotors there is .I think his once a month events will bring more to the Enid area than weekly racing has in several years.

Ed promotes several types of motorsports events besides car racing that will bring new life to Enid speedway.I remember Ed as a motorcycle stunt man similar to Evil Kneivil while growing up,i'm sure he has sean everything imaginable in the promoting business.i look froward to fun and exciting things again at enid speedway.hell i might even have to build me a race car again.

As stated, Ed is a PROMOTER. Somewhat over the top sometimes but he PROMOTES and gets involved as far as radio, tv and even grabs the microphone out of the announcers hands and gets the crowds pumped up. He also gets on the grader, water truck, etc.

I only met him a couple of years ago when I go up to Dodge City to cover the NCRA shows we have there and while I don't know him personally, professionally he is all mentioned above.

I can not and will not speak for Troy Gemmill but if him and Brenden make it a priority to go to Dodge City on Saturday nights to race then he must not be that bad of a promoter.

Congratulations Ed and anything myself (tidbits) can do to assist you then please contact me.

Ed thank you so much for trying to save Enid and thanks again for calling me today, it was a great conversation and I think this might be the best thing for Enid, I have never heard nothing bad about Dodge City and it is probably one of the biggest dirt track names in the U. S., goodluck to you and like we talk on the phone whatever you need call me or email. I already called a few guys and let them know. I want it to be like it was when it was in the 80s, it used to be elbow to elbow, come on racers let's not let another track die over.

I found this from another website that Jimmy posted last year, it was a great show at one time, maybe with the right promoter it can be great again, I know of some racers build street stocks just for this show, I even talk to one today after I talked with you and that was he first question.

MAKE YOUR VACATION PLANS AND HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE.

Here is little bit on the past winners. It was a Cinderella story for Eddie Martin, of Stilwell, as he posted the win in the inaugural event. Martin raced his way from the “D feature in the final day of the 1996 show to qualify for a starting spot in the 50-lap main. He marched from the back of the “A feature to capture the win.

In 1997, local hero Troy Gemmill thrilled the Enid crowd with a win. The next two years were sweet for professional late model driver Edwin Wells, of Morrilton, Ark. Walt Butler took the victory in 1998 in a car owned by Wells, and Wells came back in 1999 to post the win.

Modified competitor Kelly Cross, of Amarillo, Texas, dominated the field in 2000, and Ron Jones, of Zimmerman, Minn., won in 2001. Trivitt Hegwood, of Goodwell, beat Cross to win the following year, and Levi McGowen won in 2003.

Hometown favorite Kenny Morris had the fans on their feet as he put his Ford in the winner’s circle in 2004, and modified hot shoe Chad McNamara, of Blackwell, dominated the event in 2005 and 2006, becoming the first repeat winner. 2007 winner was Chris Dawson from Post TX, he won on the last lap as the leader Rod Bencken from Kansas got caught up in lapped traffic. Last years winner was Chad McMamara making him a three time winner. So you can see many drivers from diferent states has won. Its hard to say who is going to win but one thing for sure its going to be a GREAT SHOW.

The ASCS web site has a Sooner region race at Enid on July 3rd, I sure hope they can keep this race even if it is at a later date. I would love to come watch an ASCS show there and I planned to make this one.

Can I change my name to ModifiedFanRob?

I sure hope that you do not use the people that were in charge before. They are what ran alot of racers off. We need some new blood involved. You cannot tell your racers to go somewhere else if they don't like it! Welcome to Enid ED, we are looking forward to racing like it used to be in Enid.

I will agree some personnel at Enid Speedway Park had an attitude ,most however just did as they were told by Lonnie.I for one just tried to help ANY racer I could on or off the track. Some times as a staff member I was told to do something by management Idid not agee with ,but i did it because it was my job. I had to escort ny nephew out one saturday in just that sitution ,did not like it but it was my job. Lets about track staff giving carbs to someone so they could run ,or give someone keys to thier shop so they could barrow the a transmission out of the car your building so they could run the feature,Most of us were just good ole boys just trying to help

I am sorry for grouping everyone together, Lonnie is who I was talking about. I understand that most were only doing what they were told. The problem lies with the one giving the orders.

they run it alright.... they run it straight in the ground!!!

heres my take, I know lonnie and he is one heck of a guy, but you cant yell and scream at folks every sat. nite, dont know longpine but seems to me he is a man with alot of money and wants everything his way or no way at all. Everyone knows hindsight is 20/20 and I believe it all happens for a reason. Hopefully we will see the silver lining from all this and learn from it. I do believe the great racing (like it used to be,110 cars in the pit) every saturday nite at Enid Speedway is dead and gone. Im hopeful that the man from kansas can pull some cars in on his monthly show. Good Luck !!!!
