After Boothill's rainout, it's now MUSKOGEE TONIGHT, Kilgore, Texas on SATURDAY and Vivian, Louisiana on SUNDAY! The rain is GONE!!!

After the Boothill rainout, Outlaw Motor Speedway stepped up with a last minute, $10,000 purse USMTS Southern Series points race replacement show. It's a $50 entry fee (half the normal fee) and I think it may pay $200 to start and like $1500 to win. No tow money but at half the entry fee, we can live with that for one night. Saturday and Sunday in Kilgore and Vivian at the gate will be the normal $100 entry fee but whether you have a USMTS license or not, you're guaranteed at least $60 of that back and they also pay the normal larger purse. (appoximately $13,000 to $15,000 -- details available at www.USMTS.com )

Got a vacation coming? Add in the Doug Murphrey Memorial on June 5th at the same track as June 13th and you can run for $13,000 to win over a 9-day stretch!

That was a GOOD A-main last night in Muskogee!!!

For the 2nd night in a row, Jason Hughes drew the pole after qualifying top 8. On Thursday at Tri-State, Kelly Shryock drew the outside pole while Ryan Gustin started 5th in the 3rd row. Ryan quickly moved the #19R up to third. Then he swapped 2nd around with Shryock in a crowd pleasing battle and tried to take the lead from Hughes a time or two as did Shryock but officially, Hughes led all the laps Thursday night and Gustin settled for 3rd behind the 2 veterans.

Last night at Outlaw Motor Speedway in Muskogee -- what a GREAT race track and facilility by the way! -- Gustin again drew the third row and started 6th. This time he would NOT be denied! In no time he was 2nd and on Hughes's bumper. They both wanted the very top of the race track. Gustin got a whale of a run through turn four with his Gressel Motorsports 'Hughes' Chassis, went just inside the driver's side door of Jason's #12, and took the lead down the front stretch.

It wasn't over at that point. Twice the 19-year old Ryan glance his car off the turn two wall and it appeared that Hughes would pass him back just any lap. Meanwhile, there was outstanding side-by-side action throughout the field as the 30-lap feature's ONLY caution would wave on lap 14.

Gustin got it together after that. He stayed off the wall and checked out for the win! Hughes would have to settle for 2nd this time -- a little easier for him since he was looking at his chassis make's plate until it disappeared in the horizon!

John-O Whittington had a down then up night in the A-main. After drawing inside row 2, he slid back to 7th place. He then found a line on the very bottom of the race track and worked his way back up to third and for a while, challenged Hughes for 2nd after the caution with his Bob Pierce Race Cars Ed Rinehart #5W.

While being a racy, wide and fast 1/2 mile oval, Outlaw is also tough on motors. Johnny Bone was 4th at Tri-State in TRE-by-Bone #12 and was top 8 after qualifying but lost a motor as the checker flew in is heat and was done for the night. Bumper Jones lost one while leading Gustin at the white flag lap of their heat in the #111 TRE Chassis but held on for second. Jones changed motors before the A and was running top five before motor trouble sent him out again in the A-main.

Shane Hebert also had to change motors in the #9 WhoDat Hughes Chassis before his B. Made the A with a nice low line attack that also paid off in the feature as the Saints tribute car rallied from 20th starting spot up to 9th! You know Shane likes Lone Star so watch #9 TONIGHT!

#55 Kyle Anderson cameup from Tomball, Texas to join the party last night in Muskogee but .... you guessed it .... lost a motor. John Whittington has loaned him one for tonight at Lone Star and tomorrow at Ark-La-Tex.

Kelly qualified 12th but started 11th after Bone had to withdraw and ended up with a top 5 when it was over.

Trevor Egbert had a good night of qualifying and also posted his 2nd top ten with USMTS I believe!!! PJ Egbert also made the A and gained 8 spots by the finish. Trevor, Hebert, Jason Teague (who was 4th at the Doug Murphrey Memorial) and New Mexico's Johnny Scott had a great 4-car battle with lots of 3-wide action over the last 5 laps!

Arkansas's Jeremy Rasmussen went from 21st starting spot to 11th. The top finishing local was Joe Duvall in 13th while at Tri-State, local racer Brandon Henry posted a 5th place finish just ahead of Texan John Whittington who started 14th on Thursday.

Rodney Sanders broke a rearend on the parade laps and never took the green....tough break.

Expect 3 New Mexico drivers, 2 Iowa racers, at least one Mississippi racer and a host of others at Lone Star TONIGHT!!!
