Alex Johnson (May 3rd, 2010) – With Mother Nature playing games with race fans around the United States last weekend it looked like she would do the same this past week. However, she stopped the rain and brought racers and fans sunshine for the weekend.

The Bruce Williams 7k and Robby made their first tow to Knoxville for the season this past Saturday. “I was looking forward to shaking down the car and getting some laps at Knoxville before tonight’s races, but they didn’t end up running the practice night,” said Robby.

Robby would time in 14th quick in his first ever trip around the Knoxville Raceway. “It was really my first ever lap there in a 410, we had some problems in hot laps so I was unable to get any laps in before Time Trials,” Robby explained.

Robby would start outside pole of the second heat race, but finish sixth. “The Power Steering Pump went bad, so I couldn’t get a real feel for the car all night. I did the best I could fighting the steering problems,” said Robby.

Starting 17th in the A-main, Robby would slowly make his way forward until an oil line would fall off of the engine, resulting in a DNF in his first Knoxville 410 A-Main. “I just wanted to go out there and make laps, although we struggled with the steering and had bad luck, I met my goal of making the A and next week we will be better!” exclaimed Robby.

After a frustrating opening night at Knoxville, Robby would head north for Huset’s Speedway, where he will be driving the Bill Smith owned #33 on a weekly basis. “Bill has been racing for longer than I’ve been alive and it is an honor to be able to race with him this summer,” Robby stated.

Due to rough track conditions, no time trails would take place so they would line up according to the draw. Wolfgang started sixth in heat race number two, but due to some cars opting out of the race, Robby would line up fourth on the grid. “The track was rough, but it’s the same for everyone. We did the best we could with the cards we were dealt. All we could do was try to guess what the track would do come feature time,” said Robby.

Finishing fourth in his heat race, Robby would start third in the A-Main. “Casey (Mack) bobbled on the start and I got some really good grip off the bottom and got into second right away. Scott (Winters) was fast, and I don’t know if I could have caught him, but he made a crucial mistake and our car was amazing, I mean I could go right through the ruts and the thing would stay stuck down real nice!” exclaimed Robby.

After picking up his first career feature win in a 410 Sprint Car, Robby is looking forward to next weekend. “I still do not believe that I won! It was also Bill’s first career win in the 410 division, and that makes it just that much better,” Robby stated. Look for Robby at a track near you this weekend as he said, “We will be racing Friday in the 33 at the Clay County Fairgrounds in Spencer, IA for the IRA show, as well as Saturday at Knoxville in the 7k, and then back in the 33 again at Huset’s on Sunday.

Be sure to check www.RobbyWolfgang.com often, as Robby will be up to date with his Schedule, Blog, and News. Also, 2010 Merchandise is available to purchase at the track and we are also working to have it available over the website.

The Posse puts more cars in a heat race than what they had for their A Main.

That is sad.

And at least he and the others are on the track and voicing their opinions instead of sitting on their asses being know-it-all bleacher creatures. Dud, until you've been on the track or supplying a car, keep the yap shut on this type of deal. For a decent 360 or 410 sprint car, you need at least $50,000 to put one on the track. Most 410s are probably in the $75,000 and up range. Even B-mods are well over $15,000. Put your money where your mouth is and see what you would do in a similar situation.

And, congrats little Wolf.....................

Im soory thats funney right there..

Spot 1 you make a legitimate point , But , what about the paying fans that weathered the night to see a race, they do have a opinion , without them who would watch your skills ? mind you, I see validity on both sides , but, safety is proubly the main concern! , if a driver / owner dont feel the conditions are safe, by all means that is thier decision. Nobody wants a wrecked racecar, or worse, injured driver.

Amen!! Those cars that pulled out helped because the 4, 4, 56, 13m, 12, 21?, 5L are all drivers that could not have raced on a less than perfect track. These cars and drivers account for what? 50% of the cautions because they obviously can only run wide open, and don't possess skills in braking. 23w stayed and played, but (sorry scott) he only has 1 gear also. And 2 spins tells that story. Wolfgang drove a great race on a less than perfect track. that 33 was set up perfect for track conditions. No cars got over because of track conditions from my point of view. Pussys was a correct term. Hell that paralised Scherurs kid didn't pack up and leave. He learned the first thing about being a racer. You race the track and your competitors. 11x we could go way off on you. It's time to man up and race!

Most fans are very decent people but you always have a very select few that act like they are entitled to have everyone entertain them and they are the only ones that count. Here's my big point that all promoters should realize.......if all of the racers pack up and head out, who are the fans going to watch? The promoters should really work harder to please the racers and give them something to race on so they can make the fans happy. Some six, seven years ago at Jackson in an early season special on a less than desirable track, I saw Chad Meyer get his leg severely broke when no one could see in a cloud of dust that was the race track. If all of you that are pissed at the ones that left would get off your asses and onto the track, you may have a differevt view. You might actually see the light.................with some of you, I doubt it though.

Yes, by all means, it's the promoters responsibility to prepare a track for the driver who can't adept to a less than stelar race surface. There is one obvious solution. Asphalt, the surface for the less than perfect driver who likes a smooth ride. lmoa!

The real joke hear is? Your so pissed, that you'll be right back in the stands a Husets again on Sunday. And you'll bring a friend on "BOGO" night. Because the Rubins for some reason felt responsible for whinning drivers, and some fans who can't ever be satified. I have to admit. I love it when drivers shows there all-purpose skills on a less than perfect track. It separates the men from the boys?

Spot1 must be a Jr. 88 fan? They get all upity and defensive on NASCAR.com too. Are we gonna see you reveal your true identity big man. I want to make sure i give you a big cheer on Sunday. Wait, maybe you won't be there? Track might be too wet, possibly a little dust in the high groove. Hell no one could race on that. Little wolf has a pair. I'm sure he'll be there.

Your 30,000 Sprint car. The million dollar equipment I run 5 days a week. Huh, you are a big man. If i get as many chances to wad up the car as you have had, I might take that offer.

Mr. carboy43,

Let me ask/explain a few things to you. First of all, on the million dollar equipment that you run, I have a question. You own that yourself don't you? You've paid for it outright and call it "yours"? In regards to the same piece of equipment I am wondering this.....Do you wear a 5 point harness, triple layer fire-suit, gloves, shoes and helmet every time you fire it up? Do you wear the HANS, the D-cell or the Hutchins device when you crank it up? Also, are you running the Butlerbuilt seat, the Lajoie or some other brand? And lastly, how many times has the tow-truck deposited your million dollar machine in front of you on 4 jack-stands and asked, "will ya be back next week?"

I can tell you first-hand what it cost to field a sprint-car, as I have owned my share of them over the past 10 years. I know what it cost's to put these things together initially, and I also know what it cost's to put them back together. For you to come on here and arrogantly run your mouth about the people you have singled out leaves you with ZERO credibility and shows your total ignorance to a sport many of us love and respect. I have good friends that were on both sides of the fence last Sunday night at Huset's when it came time to make the decision to race or not. I support all of them, and understand why the decisions were made for both sides. For you to say that any of these guys doesn't have big enough "nads" is a total discredit to them and shows your complete and utter stupidity in regards to competitive racing. For you to say that these guys "owe" the fans is as far off as it comes. No-one owes anyone anything now-a-days, plain and simple. What happened last week was a bad deal for ALL parties involved, from the racers, to the fans, to the promoters. Do you honestly believe that the Rubins wanted a track like the one last week? Do you honestly think there were any racer's that wanted the situation they had last week? And do you honestly believe...I said honestly believe, that was good racing last week as a fan? So before you go and make your self look any more stupid than you already have, please take into consideration all that goes into just 1 night of racing at any track you attend. From the promotional side, to the racers huge investments, to the fans wanting a good show. It all needs to jive together to get a great end result. People like you don't help one bit. I'll bet the Husets people will have their stuff together this week and you will see a great show from all the drivers. Do all involved a favour after the races this week, and make a point to thank ALL of them for their hard work and loyalty to the sport that you are afforded the opportunity to enjoy each and every week. Without any of them, none of this would be possible. Also, have the dignity to sign your name after your next post, so we all know who to look for this coming week.

Sincerely

Lannie Nichols, Watertown, SD

35 years as a fan and I know nothing? I assure you this Spot1 jackass, is a mediocre driver at best. I think I know who he is but can't put sure bet on him. If I knew who was bad mouthing the fans, I would surely give him the #1 sign on race weekends he's racing and not rebuilding his car. I'm glad your buddy Lannie piped up. I haven't seen him at Huset's for years. Lannie always thot he was better than the paying fan too. U all belong together.
