Anyone know if Petaluma is honoring GSC memberships? Antioch wouldn't, just curious.

Well, why belong to the GSC if buying a memebrship has no benefits, like a discounted pit pass at GSC events? Kind of sucks, IMO!

My point is when you are a member of a traveling series, such as GSC, wouldn't you think that the tracks where we run would honor our memberships for the discounted member price? Why are the fans there? Who are the fans there to watch? Why screw the members of those series that the fans come to watch! We'll see what happens at Petaluma tomorrow night, hopefully they won't be like ANTIOCH!

We were there last weekend for CW and first I was charged $57 for car a driver! I was told because I did not belong to the track membership, I had to pay the non-member fee. Now, I have a membership through Placerville, which is supposed to be good at any CW race. So, I bit the bullet, paid my fee since I was there already and then found someone with answers. Well, I was only supposed to pay $47!!! See, it was $37 with my pville membership and then a $10 pill draw fee??!! I wasn't very impressed, so instead of trying out my 410 at Petaluma this weekend (I wanted some more laps there), I'm racing Placerville. Plus, the fee for non-members in the pits (my crew) was around the $50 mark I believe. Hope that helps in someway Linda. Good Luck!

I have no clue why you guys keep going back to Antioch. If Petaluma is pulling the same shit then they shouldn't be on the GSC or CW schedule either. You book a series race you honor the membership of that series at the very least on the night that series is scheduled to race. Period - end of story.

i have never had a problem at petaluma with pit pass fees that are charged, just gotta let them know what membership you have or ask if they accept your membership before being charged so there is no misunderstanding.

Sorry, for you guys, but they should charge the same at all of the participating tracks. But then those two tracks have kinda done what they want. You might try talking to Alan and voice your opinion..

Wishing all a great weekend..

I believe last year we had the same problem at Calistoga, at least on the first night where they didn't honor the membership discount. I don't know why this occurs every once in a while.

It also happened at Hanford in 2007 when we were there for a 2-day show and if I remember right the Saturday night they gave all members a $10 discount to make up for it.

GT Calisotoga refused to honor our memberships for GSC both nights!

Threadkiller WE HAVE NO IDEA WHY GSC KEEPS GOING BACK TO ANTIOCH, if you are racing for points as a team then you don't want to miss a race and therefore have to go where GSC is booked! I will withhold comment on Petaluma until after Saturday nights race.

Robbie, ever since we started racing with GSC we've been racing at Antioch, I just wonder why Civil War pulled the plug on them yet GSC continues to endure all their BS. I thought all of us at Handy Racing were one big happy racing family??? Good for one is good for all. Maybe Alan needs to take a stand and take care of his racers.

Jim asked for a list of GSCS members and got a list of 37 people who are members. Figuring at worst case scenario 20 cars show up with 3 crew apiece that leaves 23 people without memberships at least. Just because a driver is a member doesn't mean his pit crew is. Jim also asked for more applications for membership to GSCS to take care of anyone who is a non-member so they get charged GSCS pricing should they choose to become one. Pretty sad for sprint car racing when all's the people do is bitch moan and groan on here about golden state ticket prices, drivers, etc, Even sadder they only have 37 pd memebrs and I am sure many of you get in at member price , you just lie to the pit gate. IF YOU WANT TO Bitch and moan, BECOME A MEMBER ..... MY 2 CENTS

It was a honest question that got an honest answer.

I'm not surprised GSC only has 37 registered members. There are only 11 cars that have run all 3 races to this point in the season.

The reason Antioch probably doesn't run Civil War anymore is that the participating tracks go dark on the nights that the series runs at other tracks, the promoter probably just didn't find that as a good business proposition. Also the series probably only works with tracks that have a semi-stable base of 360's which Antioch just doesn't have.

I wonder how the Ocean Sprint series car counts will look outside of Ocean. Since many of the tracks they are traveling to don't have their own support base of winged 360's.

You seem like an intelligent person - why not try calling the promoter @ Petaluma to get your question answered? Now there's an idea...

So it's pretty simple, if the Petaluma scorer is telling the truth....

Post a sign at the sign in shack that states: "Show your GSC membership card in order to receive a XX discount off of your pit pass. No membership card? NO DISCOUNT!"

But a GSC or CW membership should mean something....

That was my point. Nobody should have to "call the promoter" or "post a question on a message board". A team should be more worried about getting cut off my some idiot on the way to the races than if their GSC or CW membership will be honored at a host racetrack. If I were wealthy and foolish enough to own a racing team and I paid for a membership that wasn't being honored I can assure you I would raise hell when it happened. The rig would be turned around and pointed the other direction before entering if the schmucks running the joint stuck to their guns about not honoring it too.
