First time it has ever happened to me in the 30 years that I can remember going to the races. Sure makes it easier to find other ways to spend my money on race nights. Hell, I am not even a casual fan, it has been in my blood since I was in diapers, imagine how the casual fans feel after witnessing this??

EXACTLY...The first time in thirty years. Everyone needs to chill out and give them a break. Yes, it sounds like it was horrible, but has no one else on here ever made a mistake? If it keeps happening, then there is trouble at Tony land, but once, give them a break.

It's time to admit and accept "eldora is not a sprint car track anymore" they have Monster Trucks, Tractor Pulls and last Friday night's (push truck, water truck and grader racing event). But they'll fill up the seats once in a while by bring in some NASCAR drivers to play in the dirt. Eldora has 18 race weekends on the schedule this year, 19 if you count the Prelude on a Wednesday. Of those 19 only 8 include visits by some kind of sprint cars. No more Allstars and the Kings Royal is just a shell (as far as the racing) of what it used to be, now basically a 2 day WoO weekend. I could go on and on, but long story short eldora is not a sprint car track anymore.

Fill it up with water and then Bass Pro Shops can sponsor a fishing tournament!

Nope it wouldnt be possible because a NASCAR race would bring in more fans than Eldora could ever plan for.

It is EXACTLY why I won't spend valuable money, or even more valuable time at that place. They have no idea what they are doing with the track. My opportunities to go see a race and relax and enjoy the show are very limited, I won't roll the dice with Eldora again.

If I make a mistake of such a magnitude in my line of work that my" employer lost a whole day's worth of revenue, I'd be fired, no "ifs", "ands" or buts" and I WOULD EXPECT IT. It doesn't matter if it was my first day on the job, or after 50 years.

Hundreds and hundreds of good races at that place and they screw up (like every track does) and you guys want to hang them. You're idiots.

I seem to remember a few years back Knoxville hauled in several loads of new dirt over the winter and it didn't work as planned, so they removed it.
So let's just give them a chance to fix the problem. If they don't fix it then ride-em about the problem.

Just received an email from Tony Stewart apologizing for the track conditions etc.
If you get Eldora updates and emails you will receive one also

True... no races were cancelled though on 80-degree days because they couldn't get the track in shape. The racing was actually pretty good... perfect slidejob tracks on most nights. That was the year that Travis Cram charged his way to the front most nights, and was leading the 410 pts going into twin features night. When the WoO raced there in July (I believe), they raised holy he// with the track surface, and they brought in heavy machinery to remove all the new dirt... hauled it out to the west side of the North campground. It was more difficult to run flat-out on the bottom berm... hence the grumbling from certain bottom-running WoO regulars..

That stuff was a bit dusty, but it had 3 grooves most nights.
