It makes no sense to me at all that Speed would have their camera crews out in Vegas to film the race only so they had highlights to show on the Speed Report. Why not just filmed the races and put them on their station? Even if the races were on a week from now. It makes no sense to me at all.
I'd rather be in Knoxville.

I really doubt Speed had "their people" doing the filming.
Probably a local station and/or a contract type company.

It takes 1 camera and 1 cameraman to shoot a race for highlights for a cost of a couple hundred dollars. To shoot a race for production takes a crew of about 30 and about 10 camera's (including in-car and speed cams) Then you need a production truck and satellite up-link capabilities. All for a cost of tens of thousands of dollars.
Make sense yet?

Several years ago a "figure of $65K" was thrown out for doing a race.
Makes sense.

Uh, and there were a "few" Speed production people in LasVegas for another couple of races that were going on at another track...maybe you've heard of NASCAR?
Anything that gets shown on any network gets there because of $$$$ - advertising money, production support money, or some other $$$. When sprint car racing can support itself on TV. that's when you'll see it on TV.
Personally, I'll take whatever I can get - whenever I can get it...

probably part of the NASCRAP SpeedTV crew in town for the 12 hours of pre-race coverage over at the big track. The Napcar prerace show is now longer than the actual race itself. Pretty Sad, but true!

I do believe Dean Mills, http://www.millsvideoproductions.com , provided highlights from both nights at Vegas.

According to my DVR, the green flag flew 2 hrs and 3 minutes after the "race" started. Pretty much the same every week. And of course they have pre-race crap on for several hours before the "race" starts. Can't imagine anyone watching all those gums floppin. The whole two hours could be a commercial for Grecian Formula.
Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

Hard to believe they can produce and sell time for PIMP MY RIDE and not sprint cars.
Folks, that is truly sad!

There seems to be plenty of "Junk" on speed that I would gladly see traded for sprint car racing, but its a matter of economics. What realllly bothers me is the sprint car blogs get huge numbers of hits compared to any other form of racing and yet it gets NO live or delayed coverage. Is nobody looking? As for the jackets, I only saw a couple Speed jackets being worn and I am sure none of the people worked for the TV station.

This should be titled "How dumb am I?" Broadcasting a race on national television is not that easy and if it was SPEED wouldnt be showing all the crap they do during the months of December-January

Sprinter25 has hit the nail on the head. Sprint car racing cannot support itself on TV and will never be able to. When you watch a sprint car race on TV you get far more interviews and commercials than you do racing action. If the Knoxville Nationals is a 40 lap feature this year and the race is green all the way, how long will the race last? Maybe 11 or 12 minutes? Only us diehard fans will watch it, and even I get tired of all the interviews. When people can tune in to a 2 hour sprint car telecast and see 1 1/2 hours of sprint car racing it might change. For now you get a heat race that lasts two minutes and then they interview Lasoski and he winks at the camera. Maybe we could get Danica in a sprint car? Sorry, had to open that can or worms!
