Just courious how the ORA meeting went tonight (Wednesday) and any other details that somebody would care to share. I would think that with the now realization that there will be no racing at Fairgrounds Speedway in 2010 that there would be an informative meeting.

Thank you in advance.

Maybe you should have attended....Then you would be able to have new info to update your front page.

Lack of support and second hand knowledge only leads to misguided rumours.

Easy Unk, Witthout this web-site all info would be second hand or worse! There's been alot of people that blame this Site for everybody's problem and I'm sure he remains neutral on alot of issuess.

Lack of support is an issue but alot of people underestamate the potentual power there is in numbers. But the ORA isnt going away, they have been around for 50 years and the people that love racin were there tonite and nobody gave up.

They have a dirrection and all ORA members will get a chance to be counted for, when a majority can rule it will be announced.

Thanks for the Web-Site David.

Sorry Bobcat, I agree that David provides a great vehicle to share information. The bad part is everybody walks away from the meetings with a different opinion and by the time they post their thoughts things seem to get turned around.

But everyones opinions are different. Just because you and others are in love with the ora, doesn't mean that someone elses opinion is wrong. Some people have to work or maybe take care of a kid and couldn't attend. What is wrong with asking what happened at the meeting??

You are so right there uncle a, twice in a 24 hr period as a matter of fact. First off, I should have told my assistant supervisor to "shove it" and just upped and left my job of 7 yrs. to attend the city council meetting, which we found out about at the last minute. Should have put that ahead of making a living since I am not retired or own my own business.

And so true, I should have put my family aside and time with my wife to attend the ORA meeting as well. It is not like I am fixing to be gone every single weekend from her and the family while chasing races and "watching cars go around and around" as my wife says. You are so true I should have been there.

But you know what? I think it may have saved me $25 bucks because I was going to push hard and suggest that people make the next ORA meeting, be it fans and drivers alike, to actually see about what is going on or what options are. Hell, me being just a race fan, I was going to even consider joining the ORA at that $25 for one full year just to do my part. But if this is any indication on how people would be treated then I am thinking about saving my money after all.

And this is not a slam to people like new ORA president Frank Dittman or a few others I have seen mentioned. Most of them are good people and if there is a problem won't call you out or try to belittle you on a message board or in a pit area.

If you want to keep on your little kick on degrading those who you think didn't do their part, I would be glad to go through the past ten years, back to 2001 when this all first started, if you would like.

But for now, I apologize to all of you who have read this. It is just my bit of "tidbit tirade" if you will. Happens when you feel like your getting called out.

Thank you.

I think allot of you have taken my post in the wrong light. I was simply pointing out the fact that if you are that passionate about our sport you would think you could take enough time out of your busy schedule to attend a meeting.

Damn David - that is one of - if not THE - best posts you have ever had (imo).

I think you hit the nail right on the head in every single paragraph with every single point. That really is the most kick ass post I have seen in a long while. I couldn't agree it with all of it more.

damn near dittos my exact feelings in almost every sentence. not even anything left for me to say.

I am guilty of being more passionate about my family than an ORA meeting. I leave at 7 every morning and get home at 7 at night. I also have a lodge meeting I attend on some evenings and that just makes me later. While I do love racing, I love my family more. Plus it's wrestling season and I am needed for that. Some of us just want a damn update sometimes.

if allen crawford wants any support at the ora, he needs to become a realistic human being, rather than a horses ass. jmo. i was going to make the meeting and had to take a family member to the hospital , and that is my excuse.

Dude,I am not an ORA member, but if I were I would not have been there either.I have 2 cars to build 1 to repair along with a full time job plus all the family goings on that never end.We just lost a battle with the speedway and with that should not let the frustration cause anyone turn against anyone. The 2010 race season is almost here, many have a lot to look foreward to.As for myself this is gonna be another fun season.David you should be ashamed of yoself.LOL

Passionate? What or who really determines how passionate a person should be about things? It's almost like telling a person where and how to spend their money. I guess in some peoples minds how is anybody going to can get 100 drivers in four classes of cars commit to travel with a group from track to track.

The ORA was 100% SFS and now some wants everybody to get on board and be a team player. Some people don't think it will work and that is their opinion. It's like nobody seen this coming it should have organised prior to now IMO.

Randy I agree that passion is someones personal investment in what they love.

What the ORA is recommending more than committing to a series is staying commetted to central OK. Racing. They are not asking everybody to travel they are asking everybody to stay united as a Racing industry.

And with some people not thinking it will work they really dont know everything yet. It has only been 75 days since the A Bomb got drop but this Assoc. isnt standing still. They are working on somethings and very shortly it could be made public. Like I said "Things could be lookin better shortly." Organizing prior to now on these issues would of helped but we are still organized and quiting is not whats needed!

Everybody needs to have a little faith and patients!

Well I am not trying to be anal but good luck with that, I hope it works well for all that are evolved and for those who want to support the ORA.

It just seems to me that people are jumping thru their ASS trying to put something together so the ORA can continue which is fine, but it should have been done way before now. Then if you don't show up for a metting for whatever reason or decide that it is not for you or your race team that's your business and it should stay that way. But it just cannot be that way it seems, but what else is new? I guess there are some of us don't want it shoved down our throats. I need to ask this question what is the ORA about and how will it benefit racers and fans? All I have heard is jackets and point fund money, surely there is more to it than that I would really like to know.

I am not trying to step on any toes or piss some people off. I am voicing my opinion as others have and will continue just like everybody else.

Thank for the good luck wish we do need some luck.

I am not shoving the ORA down anyones throat. You ask how will it benefit the races and fans is still a question that will be answered shortly I hope. Jackets and point fund money are a couple but we as a group can start having some say with the rules, tech, Keeping the past contigencies and just plain start making decision for our selves if it is to stay a group. We got dealt a shitty hand but this game aint over, Maybe SFS is done but the only thing I can say is be patient and have faith. Like I said before we just found out we were shut done a week ago.
