some day when I win the mega millions...I'm going to let everyone know the answer to this question. I will buy a 87/40 standard...JandJ, Maxim, Eagle, Schnee, GF1, Mach1, WolfWeld, XxX and a DRC. I will then have 1 engine builder supply the same power for all. I will use the same bars, shocks, tires, etc. on all. I will drive the living piss out of them all day at a rented race track and report directly to HH forums to let you all know what the best car is!!!!
Off to buy some lotto tickets, wish me luck!

I don't care who you are, thats funny. Although it throws me because he wasn't talking about the All-Stars, so maybe they're not related.

I believe avenger is still building some cars out of his home at least that’s what I was told the non-wing car I’m putting together is a 03 I just can't get the J&J's to work as a non-wing car hope the non-wing avenger will hook up better.

"Dont know why anyone would run a frame built by a guy who tried to screw sprintcar racin". Are you f#@%ing serious? Keepinitreal I think you need to research how that deal really worked. Doug Wolfgang is one of the best things to ever happen to this sport. The law suit seemed like bullshit because Ted Johnson was the only one telling his side of the story. Doug handled that whole deal with a hell of a lot more class than 99.9% of americans would have. I think if you researched it and talked to people involved you will be surprised how that really went down. If I decided to get behind the wheel Doug would be the first guy I would call. Not only was he an amazing driver, mechanic and car builder, he is a first class human being.

not so long ago D.Wolfgang again explaned this. He had hospital bills in the hundreds of thousand dollars. I think it was about 3 different ins. companys would not pay. It goes on and on, and you think , why will not a insuranc co. pay. Every ins. co claimed it was the other ins. co. that should pay. and by the way Doug is one of the best welders in country.

After spending much of my childhood admiring all of Dougs achievements he was my hero, I never cared for stick and ball type sports, racing was my gig, I had no Manning,Pucket,Payton,Gretzkie , my hero was Wolfgang, Why? because he was a Dakota local, and kickn ass! , he just happened to be the one of the big three at the time that signed, my shirt, and took the time out of his cars maintinance (he was wrenching it mind you) to sign another for my brother, and another for my father, and another for my godfather, he was polite and down to earth, and he wasnt a slouch on the track either, the previous night he put a hurtn on the outlaws, the second night he almost did it again, Ill never forget the image of the 49 crumpled up, burnt, there was a lump in my throat, then slowly , rumors of Wolfs troubles soon thereafter, only thing I could think of is would he be back? Im a 13yr old then , Now im 36 ,I stepped into my own sprint a while back, Why ? one of the reasons was, because, I liked Doug Wolfgang, A local racer gave me the oppertunity to purchase his car, and so I was hooked, as fan , I didnt have anything to talk to Doug about, Now the guy is like a friend to me, I havent handed him gobs of $$, I dont even own a Wolfweld, He has still taken the time to explain to me things about a car I would have struggled with forever, He's good at everything he does, a little strait forward, but thats what I like about him , no B.S. hes a great mentor ,
Look at it this way, take what you do for a living and throw it away tommarrow, now you have nothing, but, a shelf full of plastic trophies, your middle aged, no garentee to return to work?, and when?, two kids!, no suplimental insurance!, no resources to say, " well, your sick, just stay home, we'll take care of everything for you " Ive personally delt with insurance companies not willing to fess up and pay the DR bills, believe me, you start to feel like a villan, letters in the mail, phonecalls , " Oe a Auto accident?, wasnt the car insured ?" OMG ! it goes on and on, Dougs back was against the wall, he turned out to be his own worst enimy and so did racing in the long run , im glad to see him back helping his son, and fellow drivers such as myself , do yourself (and us) a favor and get to know the real story from both sides before posting something so bias, read the book, or give him a call, get to know him, whichever, I happen to love this sport, BECAUSE of Doug Wolfgang.

I've owned a couple of J&J's and one Maxim Big Max car. The J&J doesn't seem to do as well on a slick track, I will say, the J&J's have been 40" cars, and the Maxim was a 39" car, so that may have been the big difference there. My J&J's were also heavier than my Maxim was. I had a steel motor plate in my car and still had to have 5 gallons of fuel to make weight (1575 weight rule) with my J&J's, aluminum motorplate, no fuel with me in it (no titanium parts aside from some stuff in the rear end and driveshaft) the car weighed 1608, and had some better/more lightweight gear in it than the Maxim did. Take it as you will, hope it helps.
