WE knew years ago by the end the last decade the SFS was running on fumes, and "NO ONE" or "NOTHING" can make it stop!!!

Now how are the plans for another track in the metro area over the next few years???????????????????

Robert your entitled to your opinions just like everyone else. Although, we have had some positive responses in regards to the possibility of the future. I can tell you that the Savefairspeedway group is not going to stop. We are going to push forward and make this possibility a reality.

Come on out to the signing party Thurs night at Dan McGuiness and the rally Sat in the parking lot of Forest Lumber.

I absolutely disagree with this.

I am no fortune teller. will not say that the future of racing at the Fairgrounds is a certainty, but it is still there. And there are a core group of people who intend to see the battle through. Who knows - maybe something still could happen.

And by all rights - whether with this post - or the many others - I don't really get how it's a bad thing to have a lil hope and support. Worst case scenario - we lose the track for good. Thats what it all appears to everyone anyway right? Why not give some decent support to those who have and will continue to keep lobbying on behalf of the racetrack? I understand where folks do not see it as likely - and that could even be an understatement. BUT - at the same time - stranger things have happened. If the group who has stood up to actually do something about this asks you to merely come to a signing party and a rally - why not? seriously - why not?

If nothing else - it would be a great get together for friends and fans of the best track this state has ever produced. It's not like you are being asked to go door to door or anything. The 2 events that are taking place could in fact be quite fun. I think EVERYONE should go attend them. It's ot to be ignorant and have group chants or anything like that. Those folks (Save SFS) are not unreasonable. They just want folks to support the efforts, the cause. Even if it is an uphill Himalayan type climb. And I think everyone should. Almost as a matter of principle. I just hope I can find a way to make one of them. I really wanted to go to the signing party tomorrow night. But my nephew's basketball playoffs/tourney start tomorrow at Maple - which is about 12 miles west of El Reno - and the game is at 730pm. I would be lucky to make it to Moore by 11 lol. And if they win either thu. or fri. - then they are playing saturday morning. I do think it a matter of principal and integrity as a life long race fan of State Fair Speedway to support these events - but also I have never missed a game of my nephew's - and for what that matter to me and him - never will. But I still think I can make saturday's - just may be a lil late.

Anyways. I understand the frustrations. I'll even be objective - in the posts that were somewhat chiding people for losing hope - those were wrong. Can't have the cake and eat it too. The group (save sfs) is trying to do many various things at one moment and some of those things are very understandable to be kept silent. But then again - without knowing some of the things going on - no one sees any reason to have any hope. And they are not wrong for that. I guess the common ground to be found is just in the track itself. Even if you don't have a lot of hope of the future of SFS - the people who are still fighting for it deserve your support. And if nothing else - you can see some friends/old friends that you usually don't see until late march/early april every year - and maybe meet some new ones as well.

Even if you don't fully understand or are not involved in the fight to save it - as a matter of principal of what this track has meant to so many - both collectively and individually - I think all patrons of Oklahoma dirt track racing should support both of these events.

There's my 2 cents for the moment lol.
