Was posted on here that 150 people showed up for the ORA meeting or get together last night. There are those of us race fans and drivers who didn't make the meeting wanting to know how it went? Was it a success, nothing accomplished, positive or what? There are those of us who do care and would like to know.

And I could be totally wrong but I think that my website (this message board anyways) is a great tool for you all to get the word out about this meeting and anything else going on so I am asking on the website end for somebody to also let us know if things went good.

Thank you.

It is if you were not there. No judgement on anybody from this corner, it was my first meeting there.

Each time I set foot in the speedway, or hook up with the OkC racing community, I am in awe. I may not always like everything there, but dayum what a history.

It was not a light conversation in there.

What was it about and was anything solved?

Here is my take on the meeting last night

It was an attempt to bring toghether all of us involved in racing.

To join and support the ORA in a constructive manner, to be able to address issues in a positive and professional way to achieve desired results.

Join the ORA, strength lies in numbers.

Present ideas and issues you feel are important in a manner that is beneficial to all.

Stop complaining and become proactive.

Next meeting January 20th

Sheila

We had a great turn out. It was the first step in what needs to be accomplished before race season starts. We (ORA) got our message out and everyone seemed to be in agreement that we, the racers, need to stick together and put our differences aside to have things change at the speedway. I do not think it would a positive step to broadcast over the internet our specific agenda, but any of us (ORA board members) would be willing to talk one on one to anyone interested in what we are doing or has questions. Our next meeting in January will be more detailed in our goals and our steps to reach those goals, we would like to see 100% participation from all those that will be racing at SFS in 2010. If we don't unite now then we shouldn't complain next year when the same issues are happening all over again. I would like to thank everyone who took the time to attend the meeting and remind them to bring someone with them who was not at the last nights meeting to the meeting in January. This could really be a benefit for everyone as long as everyone will support the ORA and its decisions.

Shockingly, there are those of us who do know the "issues" but was courious if it was a positive meeting. I, as a fan and an insider, hope all are on the same page in 2010. No more drama.

First off I would like to say "I support The ORA in princaple but not in practices". The board and the officers were very receptive to some of the issues that I have had with the problems I feel have been the reason for the decline in membership. I will stand united with the ORA if they represent "everybody" equaly and develope proper prcedures to determine what the membership desires and everybody is accounted for.

I know alot of you x-members have left the ORA for the same reasons I did but last nights meeting was a step in the right direction for those of us that have had issue in the past. They seem to realize that the decline in membership has not been anyones fault but their own and seem to be willing to listen to rebuild this organization to what it once was. But it will take those of us that have had issues in the past to be part of this membership drive to achieve the ultimate goal that ALL Racers and Fans can benefit from in the future.

I have but one question left to be answered in Jan. before I join but I challenge all disgrunteled x-members to give them another shot next month and come and see if this is the Organization you have been waiting to be a part of. I think it can be and I hope and pray it will be for the fact "I Love Racin"!

I would also recomened Enid Drivers to attend based on the issues you have at your home track maybe if you dont even join you may come away with some Ideas that may help put Enid on the right track as well.

IMHO

I may do that. $25 for one full year wouldn't kill me nor anybody else I don't think.

I have known about the issues for a year or so (I do talk to alot of people you know) but as an "outsider" I don't agree with has been suggested. I feel there is a more diplomatic way to resolve what issues there may be. I just don't know if I would be crusified if I posted my opinion on here so I will not bring anything up unless the ball gets rolling. Then again I may be told to "mind my own business," which wouldn't surprise me one bit.

The most important thing for everyone to do right now is to contact a board member and let them know what problems you have with the track. When that has run its course the board members need to get together and talk amongst themselves as to the most relevant/important complaints. Then at the January ORA we can all take some initiative and actually get something accomplished. JMO.

no lie - you and Randy do such a good job of that me and David have been allowed something of a break lol.

I'm like David - there's been half a million things I been wanting to say - but I don't have much more than about 10 min. to be on here each night - if indeed I am that lucky. I respect everyone and their opinions - I respect that so many people affiliated with this sport are trying to seek out ways to improve it. As a fan I appreciate and respect that.

Due to time constraints, I will just leave it as thanks.

Sorry Cody if you feel that you are being picked on. There is nothing like that happening. We all appreciate your dedication with the Fantasy League. You are a perfect example of what a ORA member should be.

I know I get on here sometimes and wear people out, but in the end it's all about Racing and our love of the sport.
