Kronik Energy Western World Qualifying Nights Unveiled

Tucson, Arizona (November 10th, 2009) – As much of the nation goes into hibernation in anticipation for the cold weather, the tension continues to build as the kickoff of The 42nd Annual KRONIK Energy Western World Championships Presented by Old Tucson Studios is just a week away.

With more than 100 entries from 18 states as well as Canada already filed for the event set for November 19th-21st at Tucson's USA Raceway, The qualifying nights have been determined.

The stellar field, including five former Western World champions and numerous track and series champions from throughout the country, has been split into two nights. The Lucas Oil National ASCS Sprint Car contenders and the Discount Tire ASCS wingless warriors will be split with half of each field running on Thursday night and the other half on Friday night. The top eight national finishers from each night's main events will be locked into Saturday night's $15k to win championship feature while the top seven from each night's Discount Tire Canyon Region feature's will make up the first seven rows of the $5k to win wingless championship feature. The balance of Saturday's feature lineups will be determined by qualifying night finishing positions.

A glance at each night's qualifying lineups is as follows:

Thursday November 19th – Old Tucson Studios Qualifying Night

Thursday kicks off the week in grand style as Lucas Oil ASCS National Point leader Shane Stewart and Discount Tire Canyon Region point leader "Chargin" Charles Davis Jr. take to the track. Stewart will be in tough competition with 2 time Western World Champion Sammy Swindell, 2009 Knoxville Champion Johnny Herrera and the versatile Jesse Hockett among the Lucas Oil ASCS National qualifiers.

Davis will head up the wingless qualifiers with some heavy hitters that include 2007 Western World Champion and Tucson native Jerry Coons Jr., Indiana's Jon Stanbrough and Discount Tire Challenge winner Rick Ziehl.
