Why couldnt the ASCS National schedule a race at Knoxville? They have the biggest 410 series come to knoxville every year, why not have the biggest 360 series. I saw that tony bruce is bringing the series to Eagle and he is wanting to get more dates, just sparked curiousity as to why they never have a race at knoxville besides the nationals?

There was an ASCS show (besides 360 Nationals) at Knoxville I believe in 2008. Think it was a mid-June date.

Ya, I remember that, i think it might have been the weekend with the midgets, but why dont they make Knoxville a track to put on their calendar every year? Knoxville has a great weekly 360 car count and im sure it would draw a good crowd if the national tour came

I would like to see the ASCS and the All-stars both make stops in Knoxville. It always great to see new faces.

Nobody goes to watch a 360 race at Knoxville. The fans would rather watch 18 410's than 50 or 60 360's. I don't get it, but to each their own.

If there was a reasonable chance of it being a financialy success event, they would do it. Obviously it wouldn't be a good draw of fans.

Having the 360s headline a sat with the ascs national deal along with weekly 410s would be cool, but I doubt it would add any $$$ the pockets of the fair board,
I would rather see knoxville start allowing drivers to run each class to increase car count a bit

It seem kind of odd to me that the track with one of the best weekly 410 shows in the country bothers to sanction any outside racing group. But if the fans pay to support the WoO shows, I guess that Cappy and the fair board are happy with the money that they make by having the WoO.....

Actually, outside of the Knoxville Nationals, even the 410's don't draw squat for a crowd on any night but Saturday. Their (2) day WoO shows had very sparse crowds on Fridays, thus they dropped the (2) day WoO shows, but made up for it on Saturdays. Knoxville fans go to the races on Saturdays, not much else, regardless whether its 305, 360, 410 or fendered cars...CZ

It is kinda like the Nationwide series vs. Sprint Cup .... if the Nationwide didn't have the 'cross over' drivers from Sprint Cup ...there'd be even less in the stands by a large percentage than there is now. Cheaper ticket for the Nationwide and way less fans ... I am not saying it's right ...but fans want to see Earnhart, Stewart, Kahne, Edwards and Johnson/Gordon. They could care less about the Bodine's and Annett's.
Schatz, S. Kinser, Saldana, Meyers and yes McCarl (at some tracks anyhow) put butts in the bleachers. The guys chasing the ASCS points aren't that well know by the OCCASIONAL fan and if you lose 30% of the rabid fans because they won't pay 20 bucks for a ASCS ticket vs. 30 bucks (example only) for a WoO you just cut your front gate gross ticket sales (not gross $$) by 50%. Less beer, hotdogs and popcorn sales when you have a 2,000 person crowd vs. a 4,000.
If the above named sprint car drivers ran 70 to 80 percent of the ASCS national series you (as an race track owner or promoter) could make a business case other than just Knoxville that don't sanction races now with ASCS .
Sprint Cup vs. Nationwide is a few mph difference and the cars look virtually the same .... it is all about the perceived 'stars' being in the field.
It is about making money (a must unless you are running a charity) on a race .....not doing any group or series a favor by having them come in and taking money out of your pocket to do it.

It's really sad that the fans don't support 360 racing more than they do especially at Knoxville. The 360 Nationals is one of the best shows in a season.
