This is River Cities Speedway website Winter look. Think they show 5 cars timing in at, first they show Erin Crocker breaking record w/9.59, then Haud, then Saldana breaks it with a 9.31, then Meyers comes on and breaks record w/9.26 at 116mph. Last one they show is Sides. 4 minute video, think Johnny got tires of saying "new track record", don't know how many times he said it but believe 15+ cars broke old track record. Track was sticky to say the least, and dangerously fast as the car owners would attest to with all the damage that took place. What a nite it was.

Odd camera location for that video, shooting almost straight down the front straight-away.
Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

I think what is more impressive is the RCS track record was held by a local, Jason Linnel for several years , I think the amount of moisture on this givin night definetly aided in the times, and it happens , Jason runs respectably well when on the track , surprizingly the NST and WoO had a few shots at knocking him off the top , (and everybody has thier time) but, my applaud goes to the underdog ,big funded teams ,so what... The place was a quagmire on this night. It took two hours to hone out a path for the cars to get into the facility from outside the gate. It was my first ever visit to the place and it was obvious to a first time visitor that it wasn't your normal track conditions. One of those nights when you're going to hook up so awesomely fast that half the cars are going to shatter track records. Anyone who has been around this sport for a while is going to see a night like this every so often. Mother nature deals us a variety of race conditions.

Many thanks. Cool stuff.
Luna's Ford engine style that won 2 WoO titles and 3
Kings Royals before a weight rule against the best EVER
in their prime and now DOMINATES super dirt late model
racing is no longer allowed/wanted in a WoO sprint
car.... Was Luna a miracle worker?

I just can't resist. I just checked to see who won the race that nite since a track like that would certainly show who has the best horsepower. And of coarse the Mopars ran first and second. How strange since all the experts seem to think they are inferior to the almighty scrub. I have to assume if there would have been a Ford there that nite, it would have run third. The Dodges probably won't even be around next year since they are such a "liability" and the corporate money is gone. Yet when the best bullet counts they sit in victory lane.

This is ridiculous. Next time, resist. We don't need your views on engine manufacturers in all these threads. We get it.

I remember they had late models there for the support class so it was a super fast night of racing. Wildest racing I'd seen in a long time, given the great track conditions. I'm guessing drivers aren't that crazy about a track having that much grip.

I just cant resist, FYI yhere was a complete F product on hand for the event, A humbel driver with a Family passion for the sport, and Hey, they just happen to love Fords! little down on financhal backing and CI,to be Outlaw material but, like I said, this is just FYI Mopar,Ford,Chevrolet regarless your not going to walk into a dealership and find much of anything that will be utilized on any of those mills,
Stan, I know the moisture gods were on hand,we were puzzled to get the news of the condition of the pits while on the way to the event, Needless to say we broke a shock mount just pushing off in the pits thought the BAJA! , the night went much much worse for us from the get go a night great for the fans but pretty hard on equipment for alot of teams.

Yeah, that Late Model Feature was pretty good up until the first lap.

It was one of those nights where it was more like 24 bull riders trying not to run into each other than a race. The weather does that once in a while. Seems like the fans are always wanting a tacky track but sometimes there's such a thing as too tacky. That's dirt track racing, sometimes the weather dictates what kind of night it's going to be.

not Gressman, not a 410 , the car is 20L Dusty Lawson, a quick look over the car youll find Ford Blue under the hood and a magneto located in the untraditional location, against the grain still having fun. www.lawson-racing.com Some of you Ford fans might find this interesting

I've seen that car many times in the last couple years now. They need a new motor program, or need to get it running on all eight cylinders. 8 cylinders would help a little, probably not much though. I know those Roush-Yates 360s are $30,000, but they need one badly.

Thanks for all the info guys. I need to rephrase...If there would have been a Ford more than 360 cubes present it would have run in the top 3. LOL

as a outsider looking in it is pretty easy to point out a problem with a ill running car, I know the Lawson team pretty well and for quite a few years, keep in mind these guys run two cars , decisions were made on track avalibility and down time needed to solve a problem that just couldnt be pinpointed, areas of the car were going to be improved but not untill the slump they were in was getting better, luckily, this past spring they overcame some of the running issues, believe me it was in some parts that had been, built, rebuilt switched and rebuilt again over thier troubled time , what gives? anyway , Ive always said Dusty is in a freeze of improvement with the car running so poor , now the mill seems to fire on all 8 and move forward, now his real seat time will start to accumulate , I think if you stopped and visited with one of the drivers, uncle, grandpa youll see thier passion for the sport, and if you handed them a 30k check for a new bullet , they proubly wouldnt turn you down.

I sat next to Jerry Lawson (Lawson racer grandfather) at a WoO race in Fargo a few years ago. I recognized him as soon as I sat down and hadn't seen him for 30 years. We used to watch Jerry race his sprint car on Sunday nites in Minot,ND way back when. One of the top 3 or 4 cars back then and he always ran in the top 3 in the sprint car feature---called Super Modifieds then. We had a nice talk, very very modest about his race days.
