Press Release Peoria, AZ October 6, 2009. The ABC motorsports team and Nathan High take home the victory last weekend at Canyon Speedway Park. Number 12 Nathan High is on a two win streak at CSP and is now tied for second place in the 2009 ASCA point standings. It is the XXX sprint car team and fifteen year old sensational driver Zach Sawyers that now sits on top of the ASCA leader board. Sawyers also won 2008 rookie of the year honors and has gained momentum in this seasons year end ASCA finale. Sawyers had won heat race number three this past weekend and led 8 laps of the main event until a caution caused havic on the teams night last Saturday. Sawyers finished an impressive third place in the feature catapulting himself into the top spot of the 2009 point standings with only one race to go. Sawyers is now in contention to win his first ever sprint car championship as the "Piggly" team has all but one race to go.
Mike Colegrove also has held the top spot among the ASCA points chart this season and is in pursuit of a championship. Colegrove is tied with High in the second spot of the ASCA 2009 point standings making the next show very instrumental for these top three ASCA racers. Crowd favorite RJ Johnson in the 51 machine had hoped to chalk up his third win in and row at Canyon. Instead Johnson logged a DNF due to a broken brake line. The next $1000 to win race is scheduled for October 19th at Canyon Speedway Park and it is sure to be a date remembered. SAWYERS, COLEGROVE or HIGH??? Be at Canyon Speedway Park October 17th to witnesss history as a new ASCA CHAMPION will be crowned!!!!
