A photo gallery of one of the many great drivers to come out of Northern California, Tim Green.

Does anyone know the story how Tim suddenly showed up at Knoxville driving the Jensen 55 in 1979?

While I'm not certain, I think that Kenny Woodruff from Sacramento was the crew chief on the Jensen 55 and may have had something to do with Tim getting the ride...........

Damn fine pics. I like the one with the cheater panel on the right side of the car. Were those legal at Knoxville at one time?

Tim Green was in the WoO race at Manzinita many many years ago in what was, I believe, the very first ever WoO race on television, a Saturday afternoon. Never forget the opening of this Outlaw tv race with two cowboy gunslingers on a western street facing off in a gunfight and the announcer talking about 'there are outlaws in town tonight'. I'll never forget the many many side by side wheelstands. Had never seen anything like that before.
Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

Actually, he drove the Jordan 1 at the Spring Outlaw show, but didn't register a time. Woodruff was his mechanic on the #55, and he rode back from Florida that Spring with Wolfie and Trostle...

Tim Green was my favorite driver growing up as kid going to Baylands every Saturday night, the Virgil Owen #14 loved that car!

Tim was a favorite down here in Australia too. He raced that red coil over Trostle #20 down here and it was awesome on the dry slick tracks but couldn't keep 4 wheels on the track at Parramatta back when it was 100% tacky clay.

I love that car. Those cheater panels on wings were popular for a short time, until they became illegal. Pretty sure Bob Trostle came up with that idea, along with the coil overs and downtube chassis back in the mid 70's, Trostle was a genious. I thik I even remember John McCoy running his #9 Dingus sprinter with a cheater panel wing.

You are correct Bob Trostle was and still is a genious. I very much enjoy listening to Bob talk about the old days and the ways of today. He has many many stories about the past and he is a great person to talk to. He has helped the sport and many drivers along the way including drivers and owners like Wolfgang, Steve Kinser,Tim Green and many many more. I wish he was still building cars.
