I have talked to Brian a few times and he is a very cool guy. I have always liked watching him race, it's hammer down! I know there are some people who dont like him and thats their opinion but I have never saw him with my own eyes do anything out of line. Brain is one of my favorite racers thats for sure.

I agree with you.. whether he is at kville or any other race track, Brian is one of the last ones to leave the race track, signing autographs and talking to people. He is a very classy guy, who races hard, works hard, and is a sponsors dream! Keep the hard work Brian.. ELBOWS UP!!!

Well how about 2 years ago at the Knoxville Nationals when he turned in on Ricky Logan in the 1st lap of a heat race and sent him into the fence breaking his neck. They both started in the 2nd row and both were on their way to a transfer if he wasn't such a moron. He took both of them out and until a few months ago Ricky's arm was numb. Yeah, and despite it all Ricky has never said anything to Brian about it, but it was a cheap shot..especially since they were both on their way to the feature. He showed what kind of guy he was when he ran over his own Uncle the same year, and if they would have done things according to the rules at Knoxville that year, neither one of them would have made it to the feature. But everyone knows the Lasoski rule and the McCarl rule trumps all at knoxville. So nice guy ...maybe, but maybe he's just doing what his sponsors want him to. Why don't you ask him about the time he was asking people if they wanted his autograph at the hy-vee. Pretty cocky move there.

Whoa, some hurt feelings here? First off, if you were at the Nationals, Brain ran the same line the previous lap danny tried to slide under him, so he DID not run over his uncle, I think most people would agree, unless your a "Dude" fan.
And unless your your driver Ricky Logan, whom I am a fan of, is perfect, quit the hating. And why bring McCarl into this?
Way to make a good thread go bad!

I see Brian almost every week at Knoxville after the races. He's a good man. Always looks you in the eye and says thank you, tells you he appreciates your support when you buy a t-shirt. I think he's grown up a lot the last year or so with him being an owner now. But he is great with all the kids and takes the time to talk to everyone for at least a few seconds ya know. You go up to Schatz or Tyler Walker after a race and they will just hand your kid a card, no eye contact or conversation. Nothing against those guys, but it's a shame they are not more outgoing when interacting with fans, especially the young ones.

Every driver has made some mistakes in their careers and have crashed someone. To do something like that on purpose is stupid because you are taking a chance on tearing up your own equipment. Brian is aggressive, but if he wasn't he wouldn't have the races he's won. Brian is a very cool guy and I will always root for him. I also think most drivers in their early years make more mistakes than when they have been racing for 10 years. The stuff in the past, let it go. With that said good luck Brian and hammer down!

Logan Fan, your an idiot, nice post! Sprint car racing is not taking someone out ! Apparently you have never been in one, or you would know this. Nobody ever wishes to hurt another competitor. Brian has nothing against his uncle, cousin , or Rickey Logan, or any other competitor he has raced against.

That was not ok in anyone's eyes and Brian apologized and admitted it was the biggest mistake he has made in his career. He even stood up in front of the entire crowd at the year's ending awards banquet for Knoxville Raceway and admitted it was his fault and a mistake and stated if he could take one move in his career back it would be that one. Of course, you probably didn't know any of that.
My wife told me if I went to one more Sprint Car race
she would leave me.................I'm sure gonna miss
that ol' gal.

I agree with your post. Every driver makes mistakes and it can happen, especially at those speeds. That was one thing that I really respected in Brian Brown. He made no accuses (Martin crash) and from the beginning and several weeks later when he was still being beat up, he apologised and said it was all his fault. I have talked to him several times at Knoxville and he has always been friendly and remembers ya. I'll say this too. He is very good about promoting his sponsors. He always gets them in.

Reading your post made me think about my personal experiences with both Donny Shatz and Tyler Walker.
Beginning with Donny, I have had nothing but respectful, pleasant conversations with him and his parents. I am not even a big fan of his but I have enjoyed talking to him over the years. I remember a few years back at the Gold Cup when he got burned in his preliminary night heat race, he was at the chili feed/bikini contest talking to fans even after suffering facial burns that were quite apparent when I spoke to him. He was pretty badly blistered up but still managed to put a smile on his face while we spoke.
Now Tyler Walker gets a bad rap from some people and I am uncertain why that is. Every contact that I have had with him has been great. He always makes time for me or my brother at the races. Recently when the Golden State Challenge series raced at my home track Santa Maria Speedway, he won the event and also took home the custom billet aluminum trophy that I created for the event. He also happily gave away a smaller billet trophy I created for a random lucky young fan in the stands. When it came time to push the car back to the pits after the victory lane events he asked if Terry Fort would like to hop in the car and steer it back to the pits. Terry is the daughter of Doug Fort the man whom the race was in memorial of. She was so thrilled by that experience and his subsequent friendliness that she posted a long thank you to him on our local msg board. Later I went to the pits to ask if he liked his trophy and man was he happy. He insisted that we get pictures together with the trophy (I didnt even ask about a photo) and then he thanked my brother for providing the free BBQ that we gave to race teams earlier in the day.
Afterwords my brother and I went back to our RV in the parking lot and we were hanging out around the BBQ fire when Tyler and his crew guys came over to just relax and shoot the bull with us. He saw that there was a younger kid camped near us who had a father that had gotten rotten drunk and passed out, Tyler took notice. He went up to the kid and asked him if he liked the races and then asked if the kid would like to have his racing gloves from the evenings race. The kid was stunned and Tyler went back to his RV and came back with his racing gloves and gave them to the kid on the spot. All of this was 100% unprovoked and 100% pure class. I took special notice of his simple gesture and you better believe that kid will remember that for the rest of his life too.
I think sometimes people just happen to catch drivers at a bad time or perhaps when they are swamped with alot of fans and they cant really take the time to give you personal conversation. I have found all but 1 driver in sprint car racing to be very nice and respectful in their dealings with me. I will not name the 1 driver that has consistantly been less than respectful, it doesnt matter anyway I will still enjoy his awesome racing talent on the track.

"Winged or non-winged its all about
the sprint cars for me!"
