Go to the history section of my website and email me. Haircut is still around and comes to races once in a while. I see his nephew almost every weekend.

Jerry Lepinski, wow, brings back memories. In about 1970, he showed up at Minot,ND (Nodak Speedway) just prior to their local Sunday nite show, with a new sprintcar, hauled in from Minneapolis and was doing a "for sale tour" on this new car. He blew away the competition and later that night Wyman Wade of Fargo,ND (All Fargo sprint fans remember the colorful Wyman Wade) bought the car. Wyman had great success with the car, made him an automatic contender to win every nite out. Older Minot sprint fans will never forget that night. Think the cars were still called super modifieds---not sure.

Adding $6 trillion of debt in his 1st term and now if
elected again he wouldn't have to worry about an
electorate in 2016 so the sky is the limit. And his EPA
would continue to put the screws to oil drilling and
mining for coal. Can you say bankruptcy.

Here's a shot of Jerry and his supermodified taken sometime around 1962. My uncle and cousin built this piece out of a model A coupe. There was a lot of evolution to the cars going on back then. Every winter they'd cut them down a little more until somebody showed up with an old Sprint Car with a roll cage and put it to the locals. Over the next few years the home built crates eventually went away until everybody had caged Sprint Cars. They didn't start calling them Sprint Cars until the 1970's when roll cages became mandatory. That was an interesting time to grow up and see the coupes evolve to the home built creations to full up Sprint Cars.

This shot was taken at Cedar Lake Speedway I believe facing the backstretch because you can see the house up on the hill to the right.

Danny, I just happened to think of this. If you know Bryan Sierks, driver of the #78 Midwest Modified or his brother Dave, driver of the #71 Mod, their dad Bill used to race against Haircut, Jerry Richert Sr., Scratch Daniels, Russ Laursen, Barry Kettering and the rest of the drivers from that era. Also Late Model drive Steve Laursen is the son of the late Russ Laursen so he might have access to some photos as well. Likewise Chuck Nutzmann and there are probably some others out at CLS that have photos of Jerry Lepinski.

What's odd about my "Minot,ND" post above is that we never ever heard of Jerry Lepinski again after that night he sold that car to Wyman Wade. Of course we only saw races in Minot, so didn't get news from anyplace else. The car was one of the newer style "factory made" type, similar to today's sprint cars.

I ran a racing website and wrote and shot photos for a racing paper for 15 years.  What is it about google that you don't think I understand???  My dad took a few of those photos that come up in google way back in the early 60's that circulated around the web after I posted them.  I didn't dig this thread back out, I just replied when I saw it come back up.  You might have confused my request for leads to any photos of my cousin Tom's 87 cars with internet helplessness.  I guess I should have been more specific and said that I've pretty much seen everything that's posted online and I originally posted a lot of them.  I am interested in never before seen stuff that hasn't been posted online.  I'm sure there are a lot of photos in attics and old scrapbooks all around the Twin Cities area that are just waiting to be rediscovered.  Most people who aren't into racing don't even realize there is any interest in that kind of stuff.

Sorry I didn't mean you specifically , it's just that quite often people come on and ask about a well known driver even.. Usually if the driver is well known enough, even a guy like Haircut who I never heard of, if someone put it on the internet you will find it on Google..

I rarely if ever post on here or anywhere for that matter, but I've read your posts on here for many years..  I know your back ground, and sure you know about Google..  Again sorry just replyed to the last post...
