Which of the NorCal hotshoes will take the wings off and show at Calistoga? With no 410 or Civil War races going on that weekend, it would sure be cool to see some of NorCal's (and any others) best come out and support this awesome event! Hopefully TK will return, and maybe soon to be GSC champ (I hope) T-Dub will make an appearance. Does anybody know of anyone who might be planning to?

Good question.. You will probably see the same nor-cal drivers as last year, maybe even minus one or two.. Don't forget Skagit has a two day WoO show that weekend, Walker and Allard will probably be at Skagit, TK?.. Bud will most likely be running a Silver Crown car that weekend since USAC has them scheduled in Illinois.. Also will the #10 car be back in cali or will it be at Skagit with the Outlaws.. How about Hockett? will a norcal owner offer him a ride again?

The next question, will attendance suffer because of the bay bridge shutdown, scheduled for closer from Friday night until Tuesday morning, also the possibility of a bart strike, might be tough getting around for those fans that live on the peninsula..

Given the great racing and positive buzz around last years show, I doubt attendance will suffer. Not sure what bearing the BART strike will have on race fans traveling to Calistoga. Bay bridge closure would be more of a concern, but, I doubt that'll be enough to keep anyone who was there last year away. After years of watching some pretty boring high speed winged races at Stoga, the fans were treated to some great racing with lots of passing (in the mains at least) last year. Combine that with the "event" atmosphere that's been missing from Stoga for a long time and you've got something lots of fans want to see. Hopefully the car count will be decent.

OK, after a little research on different drivers websites, here's a list of drivers that i've found so far that are scheduled to appear: Jason Statler, Kyle Hirst, Shane Golobic (both divisions) Kyle Larson (both? I think he did last year) Robert Ballou, Tarlton racing(Tommy or Peter Murphy?) and Mike Benson. Possible shows could be: Andy Forsberg, Bobby McMahan (it is his favorite track)and BK. I'll do some more snoopin' and see who else i can come up with..........Since it is also a "special event" on the Nat'l. schedule this year, maybe it will draw a few more drivers from back East as well.........

Just confirmed that California's Dennis Roth will field a ride for Kevin Swindell at this years show. (maybe TK in the other car?) Looks like defending event champion and California car ownerTom Rolfe has a vacant seat in his car that weekend, maybe someone will show up in it?.............

Forsberg said he would like to run Calistoga but it probably won't be in the 92. He said his owners don't like Calistoga or non-wing racing.

Someone give that boy Tom Rolfe's phone number! Seeing Andy pounding the cushion at 'Stoga would be SWEET!

The Bay Bridge was closed last year as well. And I thought the BART strike was averted?

Good post SVMike. And thanks Troy for starting the thread. Question about the McMillen sprint car, will they be there with Hockett as the driver? What about TK and his ride with the Beef Packers sprinter?

The McMillens ran Hockett at the Mini Gold Cup at the start of the year, but have been helping Zack Zimmerly since then. The car is even painted #94, not #2. Not sure if they have plans for Calistoga or not. I hope Hockett does run the car - he was a show at event last year. Tripcrwn, what cars are coming up from So Cal? Is Tony Jones going to run this year?

Thanks Bob, but the truth is i'm starting to get ansy, so i couldn't help it! LOL! It's been confirmed that Kevin Swindell will be driving one of the Roth Beef Packers cars, so i'm hoping that Timmy will show up in the other. Don't know about McMillen, but the Tom Rolfe ride has an empty seat i think, so maybe Hockett or someone else can hook up with that ride.

I would say at least 20 cars. Chad Hawkins and his wife were @ the PAS last Saturday night and were talking to several race teams about the trip to Calistoga. As you may know both of these good people are part of the Lou Vermeil Classic race committee that was and is responsible for last year's great race and this year's event. Drivers and teams I would expect to be in Calistoga: Mike Spencer (#50 Chaffin), David Cardey (ITI Performance), Garrett Hansen (Priestly), Danny Sheridan (Kittle), Blake Miller (Gardner), Greg Bragg (Moose Racing), Rip Williams (Jory), Austin Williams (Jory), Cody Williams (Jory), Matt Mitchell (Mitchell), Corey Kruseman (Kruseman), Dennis Howell (Howell), Josh Ford (Ford), Ronnie Gardner (Gardner), Matt Shedarowich (Shedarowich), Ludwig Solberg (Persall) and Greg Alexander (Stansberry). There may be others that I am missing but, this is my best guess. Also Rickie Gaunt and Tyler Brown are a possibilities driving for the Gardners as are Alex Schutte (Kruseman), Rodney Argo (Argo) and Jimmy Crawford (Crawford). I doubt that Tony Jones will make the drive as the team is short on money this year. Its to bad because Tony would be real exiting to watch on the famed one/half oval.

I hope Hockett is driving for the McMillens up there.

Hey, I'll be there again this year doing a 2 day DVD of the show. We all waited so long for the

non-wing shows at Stoga. I don't do shows weekly anymore but will be there for this one every

year! If you missed last years show you should see that video! The midgets and sprint features both

nights were stand-out shows. (heats were pretty single file--but got the track ready for awesome features.) Midgets; J-Rod, & that 64 car (can't remember name,) -- Sprints TK, & Hockett were inspired both nights. Kevin Swindell put on a good run too.

I went to the Dirt Cup with George Hague and plan on doing the Trophy Cup again. Look for me

at "the great shows!" I'm not really out of retirement, but let's just say I still love shooting sprinters.

The guy that Johnny was battling so furiously with both nights in the midgets was Scott Pierovich. That was some of the best midget racing that i've ever seen, bar none!

I talked to Joanne Kaeding at Watsonville last night. TK and the 83 car will not be at Calistoga. They will be with the Outlaws at Skajit.

Are we having fun yet?

Man, that's to bad. After the performance's that TK and K. Swindell put on at last years event, the ROTH team could potentually score a 1-2 finish at this years reindition. It would be just as cool to score wins at both a winged and wingless show on the same weekend though.......
