The talk I overheard was that Lanny is going to ASCS rules for his super sprints next year at Devils Bowl and keeping the super sprints the same rules at Okc. This was coming from a driver that runs both places.

Yes Devils Bowl is running ASCS rules for 2009 and the super sprints will not be a part of this years Devils Bowl Winter Nationals.

Well D. Jones I am sure you have heard it awhile back ago. Although, some of the people on this board might be unaware. Not trying to knock you or anything.

It might just be me, but I wish we would just go ahead and go ASCS. As of next year there will only be one place for supers to run. If he kept the champs the same we could sell our heads and wings to them. I would even prefer ASCS motor rules with small wings.

It is not just you. I think someone would be stupid to build or re-build a super sprint motor this winter. I think it would help car count if they went ahead and switched.

Are NCRA motor rules the same as SFS? I too would love to see em go to ASCS rules. Might as well join em. I too think it might help car counts. In both sprint classes. I don't think I have to explain why on that.

Yeah ASCS and NCRA are the same. I would like to get a petition going at SFS to change the rules, but I get there too late ( I work until 6:15) to get any signatures.

Come on Brandon, if you got to run YOUR big wing all the time, you would be unstoppable.
It would be cool to see the big wings everyweek though.

I have been going to the races a long time but what is the big difference between a super motor and an ascs motor? Also Cheese I was not at the reces Friday night but congradulation on a good run, i bet it will not be long before you are going across the scales in 1st place. Then can I drive your car?

My 1980's Tulsa Rick Barksdale 5x5 will be alright for a while haha. The good news is, if this deal goes through Airflow will have a bunch of new big wings sold. Talk about a stimulus package! Maybe we can trade our old "clunker" wings in for new better MPG wings!
The difference in the motors are the pistons and the heads mainly. If you just want to go out and compete that will be it. By my estimations (very very rough) about $3000. But some people will opt to go full bore and change their whole combination up so the motor will run better. To be honest I probably won't be able to get my motor changed over to ASCS, but OKC motors are about 100 hp off and can compete on the top end. The bottom end is where the ASCS motors are better because of the dome pistons.
At last count I can think of 17 people that race supers all the time or almost all the time that have ASCS motors or have already said they are building one this winter. That's not counting the Tulsa cars (I can think of at least 7 that would probably frequent). So yeah, there's my spiel.
