I see on another forum that some ASCS drivers allegedly were offered free pit passes and extra tow money to stop by 34 Raceway for the World of Outlaw show Wednesday. On another forum, it's reported that Jack Dover will be bolting in a 410 and coming. Anyone know any other area midwest drivers or ASCS drivers that will show up?

ASCS National doesn't race again until I-90 Speedway on Saturday in Hartford, SD so the chances are pretty good that Bruce, Dover, Johnson, Wright, and Stewart might show up.

What other forum? Are you just trying to start a problem again against 34 raceways?

It'd make sense to even just come and run with the 360. I would imagine that given the right track conditions (dryslick) a 360 could run close enough to make it to the A and pick up the $800 check. Also, Sprint Invader races Thursday at Tipton and Friday at Lee County. An ASCS 360 team could catch four nights of racing with only one large tow (Donnellson to Hartford, about 7 hours by Google's calculations) but if one of these teams showed up, they would easily be the odds on favorite to win both SIA races, which would be $2400. Throw in a WoO payday and they could have $3K down before heading to Hartford. It'd be a nice way to subsidize the travel distance.

I would say you are going to see guys from the ASCS, All Stars, Midwest All Stars, IRA, Sprint Invaders with 360 power plants, Knoxville drivers and Missouri Drivers. This track is in a great location. There are alot of sprint cars within 3 hours of this track and there isn't anything else going on on wednesday night.

Yes, precisely. By discussing what drivers are coming to run 34's show Wednesday, I'm definitely starting a problem against 34 Raceways. Excellent use of logic here, folks.

Hopefully this is the case. I was disappointed with only getting around 25 cars last year. Hopefully this year they'll get closer to 40, but I'd be pleased with 32-35 after last year.

SprintFan16, I started that post after over hearing some sprint fans going on about who was gonna be there. That forum has a couple of ASCS regulars that read on it so I thought maybe they would know. But you should read the post's a little closer no where did it say that 34 was offering ASCS free pit pass's and extra tow money. I believe that happened at 36 raceway in Cameron Mo. and it wasn't just ASCS drivers! As far as driver roll call it is all speculation anyway. My suggestion is buy a ticket and see for yourself.

And I will defend myself again, and say that you should should read the posts a little closer. No where did I say that 34 Raceway was the entity offering the free pit passes and extra tow money. There is a post a quarter of the way into the thread saying point blank that some drivers were offered "$300 and four pit passes".

You have a point on other drivers possibly receiving the money, but by me posting that "a few ASCS drivers were allegedly offered free pit passes and extra tow money" to show up, I'm not insinuating that only those drivers were the ones to receive the offer. Just pointing out that some may have in fact received them and they were allegedly at an ASCS event.

I have already purchased my ticket and will be there, just trying to gauge what drivers are coming to race. There's another thread on this same forum front page doing the same for the King's Royal. It's a discussion about what drivers are going to a sprint car race, on a sprint car forum. What a novel concept.

Here we go again SprintFan16, last time it was the IRA show, this time the WoO show, what is your big deal about 34 Raceway?

Since it is apparent that your posts are mainly reflected towards a RUMOR that SOME teams are receiving tow money I guess you are not going to drop it until someone addresses it, so I will. The World of Outlaws may be trying to build car count for the event at 34 Raceway and Tipton so they MIGHT be offering tow money to certain drivers. This is common practice these days with sanctioning bodies and touring series. Usually the track is NOT involved with tow money decisions.

Working with the Midwest All Star Series and the All Star Circuit of Champions last year taught me a lot about the backside of promotions and tow money. Although I don't agree with many of the policies and practices that are being used today by sanctioning bodies, I can tell you that tow money is about 95% driven by the sanctioning body, not the track. I can only recall a couple of instances between the 2 sanctioning bodies where a track gave money to a driver as oppossed to the series giving the money.

What really is the issue here though? What are you really upset about? Why does paying tow money to entice an additional top level driver to an event even matter to you? What business of yours is it if a driver gets additional funds from ANYONE to race at a particular event?

Help me understand what your hang-up with 34 Raceway is. It is the track that I grew up at and have loved ever since the first night I saw Randy Wagler and Bobby Ensminger battle it out lap after lap. You began this post as a driver roll call but have turned it into demanding answers about someone posting on another board that they HEARD that SOMEONE was getting tow money. Watch how easy it is to start a rumor... I heard to make things fair this year at 34 Raceway that Donny Schatz and Steve Kinser were going to have to run the event with no wings. There, it is on the message boards, it is what I heard. Does it make it fact?

With all that being said, I do hope that you will be attending the show on Wednesday. I trust that you are a fan of sprint car racing and would like to see the sport grow as much as possible. This is a great event on the calendar and an additional opportunity for drivers to race and the fans to see. The Laue's are doing some great things with the track and are looking forward to more sprint car events. In an era where tracks are closing and cancelling sprint car events, the Laue's and 34 Raceway are adding events and giving what their customers are asking for. With maybe the exception of Knoxville, show me another track in Iowa that has done more for sprint car racing in the past 3 years than 34 Raceway has.

To say that "34 Raceway" is doing this or "the Laue's" are doing that is not exactly correct in this case anyways is it? The way I understand it the Laue's are the landlord and 34 Raceway is the rental property for the evening. Throw in the tenant SLS Promotions and I think you have the proper place to give credit/assign blame for anything associated with this event.

I do know that 34 Raceway took a lot of undeserved heat a few months ago for scheduling a WoO Late Model show (again SLS promotions, but I suspect that the WoO coerced them into this show....it had all indications of a money loser from the beginning) against a major (40k to win/2k to start) Lucas Oil sanctioned event in Missouri the same weekend. It was percieved by the local LM fans as aggressive scheduling designed to draw cars away from Missouri and cancelled due to weather late in the day. Nobody was surprised when it was not rescheduled.

Does it really matter if 34 or WoO or the Pope is giving tow money or free pit passses?

The race will stand on its own excitement, or lack of.

I would dare say 99% of the fans in the stands could give a rats a$$ whether the drivers and pit crew paid a hundred dollars per pit pass and had to pay an entry fee of $500.00 or they all got 15 free pit passes and a $1,000.00 for tow.

Racing is not what the 'clowns' pay to perform at the circus or what the circus pays the 'clowns.' That is for the car owners and drivers to decide. Fans certainly are entitled to their opinion on the matter but if the race was affected by this I would agree, but ...it isn't.

FYI .... I am not implying the drivers are clowns .... just a aquaintance of mine used to race those 'big' paying ($2,000.00) to win VWXYZ modified shows and he paid a $200.00 entry fee. He finally figured out .... (after he paid over $1,600.00 for entry fees to 6 races + pit passes and took home under $900.00 in winnings) wrecked 1 car. Towed from So. MO and N. Iowa spending several hundred dollars on fuel for his hauler, he later told me 'I was paying the circus to 'perform.'

Absolutely amazing this board is. I make one post asking what drivers are possibly planning on showing up and now I'm "demanding answers" and "making a big deal about 34 Raceway".

The tow money doesn't matter. If it's a huge "faux pas" then I apologize.

I'm not upset about anything minus the fact that I make a post to generate discussion as to which drivers may show up to run the event and I'm jumped by multiple posters. I don't think I've said anything out of line, and my intentions in this post are what I've said multiple times: to generate discussion about the event.

I have no hang-up with 34 Raceway minus I was disappointed with the Outlaw show we received last year. I was vocal on this point. In this economy, I applaud the track for bringing the "Greatest Show on Dirt" back and I will again attend. Hopefully this time the track is a little better and we get a few more cars.

If no one has any insight on the original topic (drivers that may possibly show up), then this topic can die. So be it.

SprintFan16,

I apologize if I came off a little gruff with you in my post, however past history shows you have a displeasure for the way the facility is ran. I recall a similar post regarding the IRA show earlier in the season and you stated in that post that you were upset with 34 Raceway over 2 things, touting possible expected entries and their beer prices. Here you are a few short months later encouraging open discussion about who plans on showing up, the original intent behind the IRA post.

Here is a link to that thread: http://www.hoseheadforums.com/forum~ThreadID~28742.htm

Now, if you really want to talk about who is coming, I am all for that, but your past performance on these kinds of topics makes me reluctant to share what I know as fact. But for the sake of DISCUSSION only here is what I have come up with so far through pounding the phones and inviting drivers and car owners to be a part of this great event:

Expect a full slate of WoO drivers, they all should be in attendance. Many have been practicing at Knoxville in recent days and this also gives them a good opportunity to "test out some of the things they learned" from the Knoxville practices. Also, there are some interested ASCS drivers, some will have 360 powerplants, some 410 (those that have it). Knoxville guys have been abuzz about this event since the IRA show. I would expect no less than about 8 of the weekly drivers at K-ville in attendance. As for the MASS guys showing up, it is doubtful as many of them are fairly low dollar teams and they have a 2-day weekend coming up. If you are familiar with Facebook there is an event page for this and you can see additional drivers that have been invited that have expressed interest in the event. http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=112708955188 If you look under the "Not Attending" portion it shows that Dollansky is not attending but he will be there, it was a mistake, they chose the wrong option.

You do realize that this is a stark difference between a entity that stands to benefit financially from putting a list of possible attendees up (34 Raceway/IRA show) and a message board discussion about the same topic?

I digress. I stand by being able to voice displeasure towards a racetrack based on certain things. I was displeased with 34 regarding both the Outlaw race last year and the IRA advertising. That being said, I still enjoy the track for the most part and will be attending tomorrow's show, as well as future 360 and 410 shows at the track. There are plenty of people who complain about certain things regarding various tracks around the country, even on this forum. Without the ability to voice your displeasure, things would never change.

Sprintfan16 has posted many times about and against 34 raceways. I ma not sure what her probelm is with the track or the Laues. And yes she does have a right to her own opinion.

By the way sprintfan16 are you relation to Randy be chance?
