There is no speedweek point fund. I wish there was one.
But the plain truth is, the lack of a point fund has had no negative effect whatsoever on car counts. Averaging exactly 50 cars per night through 4 races, (high 60 & low 42) with 3 of the top drawing tracks yet to come. (Attica, Lima & Fremont) Could end up being the year with the highest average car count.

Here's another one for ya.
On the opening night of Speedweek, Eldora had 48 cars. On the same night, K-C had 26 cars. It should also be noted that a number of 410 cars in Ohio were idle that night. Yea, 410's are doing alright in Ohio & FAST country, in spite of the economy.

There used to be a $50,000 bonus to the champion. At least there was in 2007.

There's never been $50,000 for the Speedweek champ, only $10,000. $50,000 is for the All Star season champ. There was, however, a $50,000 bonus put up for the past year (or maybe two) for anyone that could win four of the 7 races. That's gone for '09 as well.
